im gonna be a freshman too but i was in my high schools drumline for the year and i can honestly say its not scary at all. i felt like i was about to pee my pants when i first stepped foot through the door, but everyone was so welcoming and friendly, its nothing like u see on tv. ive made so many friends, i met the guy i like from percussion and he's gonna be a sr (plz don't judge on the age difference). and in a way, i liked coming in as an eighth grader and being the youngest becuase everyone there was like an older sibling, they were there for me and were always ready to help. there were definitely people ive had a problem with, but in the end it was the best. i agree, dont worry about getting lost, there will be tons of people, even if you don't know them to help you out. and just think, ur not the only knew one in that school, u and all of ur freshman friends are new too. don't worry and just have fun, that's what payed off in drumline. don't worry, i feel what u r. im gonna be a freshman too.

its really funny, actually i feel the same way. i really want to be a musician because currently band class seems to be my passion. but my parents keep telling me that its going to get me no where in life and sometime i start second guessing why i still do it when i'm mostly likely not going to play after college. i understand how you feel
