“So how does Ruby’s suicide have to with the topic of the assginment, Ms. Orpha?..Ms. Orpah?..MS. ORPHA!?” I look up to see my teacher. She is looking over my assignment. A three paged short story originally assigned to be about society’s fixation on perfection. I sigh, “Well, in the beginning her mother asks her what she wants to be when she’s older. Ruby answers dead. So therefore her mother’s oblivious ignorant attitude towards the topic resulted in Ruby’s death.” My teacher, Mrs. Burrows stands still for a moment but then furrows her eyebrows, “And so I ask what does suicide have to do with perfection.” I shake my head, “Suicide has everything to do with perfection. Ruby felt suffocated in a world where perfect was defined as the tall skinny blonde girls in magazines. Where perfect wasn’t the average girl she was. Where boys only like perfect girls. Not girls like her. In a world where she was far from perfect. In our society her cries for help were ignored because of her mother’s fixation on having the ‘perfect’ daughter, on having the perfect life. Ruby was a victim of society’s fixation on perfection.” Mrs. Burrows looks at me genuinely concerned, “Tommie, are you alright? Is there something going on?” I hide my wrists, fake a smile, and shake my head. She looks at me a little reluctantly then goes on to say, “Well, okay, but unfortunately that wasn’t what I had in mind about the assignment so I’m going to have to ask you to redo it.” I nod and then get up to collect my things. I am about to step out when Mrs. Burrows says, “If you ever want to talk, you know where to find me.” I mutter an okay and then head out the door, down the hallway making sure to hit all the locks, and out the main entrance. My name is Tommie Orpha, I am 15 years old and my mind is a dark twisted place.

first to all my consistent readers: thank you and tell your fellow wittians
I need ideas:
i'm having a bit of writers block ith what to do with melrose's character...i have a pretty good idea with were the story is headed and what is going to happen witht he rest of the characters (Mckenna, Shaylee, Lyric, Darren, Danny, and also knew characters you'll meet later on) but Melroses section isn't so clear I have a couple ideas but I don't want to spiol them so if you have any ideas please comment and let me know thanks

Eddie wasn’t supposed to be at the campfire, he knew he wasn’t. But he had promised himself that he would try to get closer to Melrose that year. So he decided to just go chill, I mean who would it hurt? So when Melrose sat next to him he slightly blushed and smiled. Melrose didn’t notice because she was too focused on the scripts they had been handed. Rae smirked at her and said, “Melrose, sweetie, We aren’t looking at the scripts yet we are just kind of talking. Hey Aaron why don’t you tell us about your time overseas.” Melrose despised how Rae called her sweetie, but she didn’t want to start an argument so she just nodded in agreement and heard Aaron chuckle and answer, “sure so, I went on a trip to Italy two years ago with my parents for a trip. And I guess them being the spontaneous people they are decided that we should live there. So we pretty much dropped everything and moved to Italy. My dad became a poet and my mom became and off Broadway screenwriter. She e-mailed all her ideas and scripts to an American screenwriter and they collaboratively wrote The Awesome 80s Prom, which i think is still currently being performed. Anyways, we didn’t really doing anything. I mean Italy was fun and I made a few friends but then about six months later my parents got bored and we moved to Paris. We were there for about a year, then we moved to England. I loved England especially the London Eye I could ride that for hours. There really isn’t lots to tell.” Rae smiled and thanked him. Melrose rolled her eyes, she wasn’t about to fall under the spell of some jerk like Rae was.
That week went by fast, and uneventful. All they did was read throughs. Melrose hated those the most. They were boring and didn’t require effort. rae and Aaron were getting close, well actually Rae was getting close and Aaron was getting uncomfortable. Melrose saw it so on the first day of the second week before rehearsal she decided to knock on his cabin door. When she did Eddie answered he looked hopeful but when she said she was looking for Aaron his eyes dropped.
