    Out with a Light
    Chapter 2:
The hustle and bustle of my entire family in the kitchen was almost to much to handle. My parents were still making breakfast and packing lunches, my younger sister Skye was sitting at the table, swishing her spoon in a bowl of milk, my twin brothers Alex and Danny played jungle gym on my parents, Mia, another younger sister, was sitting on the kitchen counter goofing around with the silverware, and last but not least, baby Hannah was pounding her tray table in her highchair, knocking bits of cherios to the ground.
"Is anyone going to help around here?" my dad asked, rushing over to the sink with two plates if burnt waffles, while Alex was upside down on his back making silly faces at Danny.
I walked over to where he was standing, trying to find what was left to finish when I noticed something peculiar swimming in the air. "Dad!" I shouted. He turned around and we both gasped. There was smoke everywhere.
"Gur-fune-sy!" Hannah said, which probably meant something like "Big smoke!". We all grabbed some wet towels to try and find where the fire was. Padding down all the pans, the smoke cleared allowing us to see the burnt bacon inbetween the burners on the stove.
"That was my breakfast!" Sky shouted, still sitting at the table not helping us at all. She is two years younger than me: 15. Thrilled with trying to find her a boy at Naperville High, her best friend Rachel was texting her about newbies at school.
Sometimes, I wish I had a life like her. She was pretty, popular and her personality is very sweet... well most of the time... at least when I'm not around. Still, being popular, a dream I've had for a while, would be a nice touch and would definetly help a lot with trying to land a perfect boy...

    Out with a Light
    Chapter 1:
I awoke to a crisp morning breeze that filled the emptiness of my broken heart. I was still trying to get over my past with Chris, an almost perfect match for a different girl like me. I am a brunette; any guy at Naperville High would've fallen for my looks, but getting to know me was probably more difficult than it would seem. My personality didn't match my looks at all. Sports are my life. I play softball and run cross country, am a movie geek, and my best friends don't sit at "The Table" at lunch. Even though a girl like me should be fishing more often, a fair share of boys do end up snagging the bait from my hook: just like Chris.
Startled by the cold breeze, I got out of bed and started to get ready for another day at Naperville High. Today felt different, like a new kind of different. Not like tomboy or just drab, but a cutsie kind of different. Pulling out my outfit, I planned out the rest of Today's schedule:
    - Find a new makeup brand. (Getting old with my look.)
    - Check out new movies from the Naperville Library.
    - Talk to anyone about new guys...
Hopefully, today would go as planned. No alters or changes to what was going to happen. I thought this now, but that thought was about to change.
