Gone Missing (story by me)

It was the summer of 2009 in the town of Gray. It was such nice day that you could smell the flowers as soon as you walked out your front door. It was the birthday of a little blond girl with green eyes named Sally Lee. Her mother was finally going to let her ride her bike on the road alone. Little Sally kissed her mom goodbye and got on her bike.
Her mom, June, called, “ Sally don’t go to far. Just to the end of the road and back here.”
Sally said, “Ok mom. Don’t worry I will be fine.”
Sally headed down the road. Thirty minutes passed and still there was no sign of Sally. June was starting to worry. She went outside and started running down the road. Halfway down the road, she saw Sally’s pink bike laying on the left side of the road. Sally was nowhere in sight.
June started yelling, “ SALLY WHERE ARE YOU!”
June ran to the closest house and called the police. The police searched for Sally for a week. They said it was a kidnapping, and they gave the case to some other people. June did not care what the police said because she wanted to find her baby girl. June spent everyday and every night for three weeks looking for her baby until one night she found Sally’s blue jean jacket. It was right by the woods. She went into the woods, and June kept walking straight. When she was about half way in the woods, she heard someone scream.
June said, “ Oh my god! That sounds like my baby girl!”
She started running to where she thought she heard the scream. She stopped running when she saw a little white house with blue around the windows. She hid behind a tree until she heard Sally scream, “Let me go!”
Then June saw her daughter and a man through one of the windows. She watched the man put Sally in a little room and lock the door. Then the man walked out, got into his truck, started going up a path behind the little house. As soon as the truck was out of sight, June ran to the front door of the house. He had left that door unlocked. As she went inside, she knew immediately where she was.
She said out loud “I use to live here with my ex.”
Sally thought she heard her mom and said, “Mom is that you.”
June said, “Yes dear.”
Sally said, “Mom I’m in the back room.”
June ran to the door and tried to unlock it. She could not get it to unlock, so she told Sally to back away from the door.
Sally said, “Ok mommy.” and backed away.
June kicked the door down. Sally excitedly jumped into her mom’s arms.
June said very softly in Sally’s ear, “I knew I would hold you in my arms again. Let’s go home.”
All of a sudden, they heard a voice from behind them saying, “Took you long enough.”
“John” June said in surprise.
Sally pulled on her mother’s shirt and said very softly, “John? Who’s John?”
June did not answer. She just stared at John.
Sally said loudly but not too loudly, “Mommy lets get out of here.”
John said very angry, “You’re not going anywhere!”
June took Sally’s hand and said to John, “We are going home.”
John pulled out a gun and said, “No, you’re not!”
June pushed Sally behind her back and said in a trembling voice, “Put the gun down. I have already called the police. They are on their way.”
Sally sobbing said, “Mommy, who is he and what does he want.”
Before June had a chance to answer, John said, “I’m your father and I want us to be a family again.”
John knew June was lying when she said she had called the police. June and Sally were scared.
June said, “Ok fine. We can be a family again.”
Sally kept saying, “No mommy, no mommy, he’s a bad man and I want to go home.”
John got right in her face and said, “This is your home now.”
June pulled Sally on the other side of her to get John out of her face. Sally was so scared that June could not get her to stop crying. While John held the gun, he told them to get into a different room. He shut the door and locked it.
It was a little room with a bed and blue walls. June was looking around the room frantically, trying to find a way out. She saw a little glass window in the back of the room. June and Sally ran over to it. They tried to open it, but it was locked from the outside.
At the same time, John just walked out the door, got into his truck and pulled away. When June was positive that John was gone, she took the lamp that was on the table next to the bad and smashed the glass window. She broke off some more of the sharp pieces of the window with her hand. Then June put Sally through the window. June climbed out the window, took Sally’s hand, and ran into the woods. June did not know where to go, so she just kept running straight.
Meanwhile, John was walking into the house. He went to the door where he told them to go, unlocked the door and walked in. He could see the little glass window was broken. He ran out the front door and to the back of the house. He could see a footprint in the mud. He ran that way. June and Sally kept running until they saw a road. John ran as fast as he could. He could now see them standing on the side of the road.
He yelled, “JUNE YOU BETTER COME BACK HERE.”
June and Sally started running up the road.
All of a sudden, they saw a big truck and started yelling “ HELP, HELP, HELP.” The truck stopped. June lifted Sally up into the truck. Then she jumped in.
They could see John running up the road saying, “Stop, stop, stop get over here.” June told the truck driver to move. She asked the truck driver if he had a phone.
He said, “ No, sorry I do not. Whats going on?”
June asked him to get them to the police station.
He said, “Yes I will take you there. Now tell me why.”
On the way, June told the truck driver everything that happen. When they got to the police station, she told the police everything that happen and she told them where they saw John last. She also told them, just in case, where the little white house was. The police got to where June and Sally saw him last. John was sitting on the side of the road.
The policeman said to John, “Get down and put your hands on your head now!” John did as he was told. The policeman put him in the back of the police car.
John said under his breath, “When I get out so help me God if I find you. You both will be mine.”
John spent 20 years in jail.
