Dani's p.o.v.
It was time.
I was about to seal my fate with Adam. I walked in to the detention room and took a deep breath. Adam was already in the room so I sat right beside him . He gave me a funny look but then turned his head up to the front. Mr. Atkins, our teacher had gone to the staff room to watch the news.
"So what's up?" I self consiously asked Adam.
He snapped his head in disbelief.
"I um just kind of sitting here. "
He looked a little taken aback.
How stupid of me! What a silly question to ask when I obviously knew what was up.
"Oh... Ya."
There was an awkward silence for awhile until Adam laughed.
I gave him a confused smile.
"Oh sorry it's just I thought about something I heard earlier."
I was that kind of person too.
"Oh I do that all the time!"
Adam smiled.
"I can't believe that you are actually talking to me! I mean you are Danika Whitteker most popular girl in school!"
It was my turn to smile.
"You seem like a really cool guy Adam. Wanna hang out tomorrow?"
Boom. I dropped the bomb.
"Sure."
AHHHHHHHHHHH I have a date with Adam Sawyer!!! Well not really a date but we were hanging out and that was as good as anything. For the rest of detention we talked and I couldn't keep the smile off my face.
I was going to make this boy fall in love with me.

I looked in the mirror. I hated what I saw. I was super ugly, really dorky, and no girl would ever love me. And by any girl it wasn't any girl. My heart is dedicated to.... I've never said it but I think I'm in love with Ashley peters. Ya Ashley Peters. I don't think anyone would know who either if use are. She's beautiful though. She had beautiful long legs,glasses, and she is really quiet. We had only talked a couple times but she was so sweet. I've really liked her for years, but I could never tell her.
Dani's p.o.v.
He is so cute, I thought to myself.
"Ms. Whitteker. Could you please explain last nights homework for us?"
I had no idea what the answer was.
"Umm we um."
"Detention Ms. Whitteker. I'll see you after school."
So I had detention. I had a perfect record and had never had detention before, this sucked. Until....
"Mr. Sawyer, do you mind telling us the answer? "
Adam's face froze. He didn't know either!
"I'm sorry Mr. Sawyer, detention for you too. Would anyone like to tell me what the other two couldn't tell us..."
I stopped listening to our teacher. I was so excited! I couldn't believe me and Adam would be alone, together. It was my chance to make a move.

Ugh. Detention. With Danika. It's not that I didn't like her it's just I don't know her. She's popular and that's just not my thing. She would probably ignore me. I don't care though, she's not mean she just... Isn't my style.

That was our 10 minute warning bell before homeroom.
"Groan aww it's only Monday and I want to hibernate until Friday night already."
"I know Jerry."
Jeremy is my best friend. I love him to death. We met in middle school in 7th grade. You see when we first met I was already fairly popular. We had been hanging out a lot and I thought Jeremy was getting kinda close to me. I told him one night when we were watching a movie that we couldn't be together because I liked Adam. He started laughing hysterically. I mean he was laughing so hard I thought he was going to pee himself, but after he settled down and in between gasps for air he looked me in the eye and said. "Dani, if you couldn't tell by the amount of times a day I watch the Rachael Ray show, or my 13 different sweater vests... I'm gay.
We both cracked up. I should have known though, but I mean I wasn't about to start questioning his sexuality at age 13. So that's how we became best friends. There's the comfort of having a best friend without any drama (although Jerry is quite dramatic!)
I was excited, I hadn't been able to see Adam all week-end and as much as Jerry hated school, I liked to go because Adam and I had some classes together. I know it's always about the girl falling for the guy and not being able to see anything but him but it's true. Teenage girls fall hard, harder then they can help.

I always knew we were meant to be. It was weird though,I started to become so popular in middle school and it got to carried away. Adam was perfect though, he wasnt too popular (he was actually kind of a dork) and he was gorgeous. To me atleast. He had glasses that I thought were so cute and he was a straight A student. Math was our only class together though. It was weird though, me, most popular girl in school (I know I'm so humble) Danika Whitteker wanted Adam Sawyer to be my boyfriend. And as it turned out, society wasn't going to let it happen.
