A Summer to Remember: 15
Derek's POV:
I texted Dakota today to hangout. She said she was sorry but she had to go to this girl Linny's party, it's not that I even care or anything. I got my friends and everything so What do I care? I don't. Even though I already texted her once today, I decided to again because I was bored, no other reason.
'hey kotaaaaaa!' I said. I waited and waited. No response. She was probably ignoring me, not thinking about me, hanging out with gys who weren't me at this stupid party. Not that I care.
Dakota's POV:
After eating pizza and watching a movie, we played truth or dare. greatt. When we were younger, truth or dare used to be ' lick the bottom of Suzy's shoe!' now it's 'make out billy.' I sat down in a circle next to Regina and Skyler. Linny, across me, started the game. She dared Regina to kiss the guy I didn't know (who's name I now know is greg) on the cheek. Greg, with a smirk on his face dared Mark to makeout with Linny. After a lot of "EW"'s and slaps to Mark's face, he dared Lauren to give Linny a peck on the lips, which she did easily. Lauren dared Mark to switch his gum into this girl Ally's mouth. Then, Ally dared me to makeout with Skyler for a minute. Not gonna lie, I was kinda excited. He smiled and leaned in closer to me. He pulled to back of my hair forcefully and stuck his tongue in my mouth immediately. It was kind of grossa nd you could tell he was a little too excited. There were no sparks at all. I just sat there limply praying for the minute to be over. FINALLY, Ally said , "alright guys you can stop." Skyler gave me one last lick (EW) and pulled away. He was obviously proud of himself and thought I enjoyed it.
Don't get me wrong, Skyler was hot, but in a bad boy kind of way. I liked Derek's sweet smile and the way his eyes squinted when he laughed. WHY was I thinking about Derek again?
Finally the game was over. I checked my phone and saw I had a text from Derek! I fumbled with my phone and opened the message. 'hey kottaaa!' it said. Everytime Isee his name light up on my phone, I fall for him again.
I quickly texted back making many mistakes on the way, 'heyy derekk(:!'
A second later he texted back, 'how's the party?' I told him it was good but we played truth or dare and that I had to makeout with this guy skyler and that he was a terrible kisser and it was gross.
Derek's POV:
I couldn't help smiling when Dakota texted me about the gross makeout. I could probably kiss her amazingly.
Just then, I made the promise that changed my life. The next time I saw her, I would kiss her. I have to.
*2 days later*
Dakota's POV:
I was laying on the beach just relaxing, trying to get a tan. I was about 5:00, so it was pretty much a lost cause. I decided I would stay on the beach until it was dark out.
I was with Natalie and her boyfriend so I tried to keep my distance, thy were in the water making out or something.
It was 6:00 and I put a comfy long sleeve t-shirt on to keep warm. I realized it was Derek's.
It was 7:00 and Natalie, her boyfriend, and I sat on a log eating pizza.
It was 8:00, starting to get dark.
It was 8:30 and I climbed on top of a lifeguard chair, the one me and derek sat on top of when we had the bonfire. I sat up there alone, just staring at the staring at the stars. I closed my eyes, resting my head against the salty wood of the chair, listening to the waves lap the shore.
I heard a creak and a clearing of someone's throat. Someone was up here with me! I jumped up opening eyes. My eyes adjusted to the dark and I saw a tall dirty blonde figure. He was muscular and had a six pack. He definitely was hot. He definitely was... derek!
"Derek!" I said a little too loudly. WTF. He was so hot, I had never seen him with his shirt off. wow.
"Sorry I scared you," he said sitting down next to me. He seemed nervous. He looked up at me and I almost melted. His eyes were wide and he leaned in close to me. My heart started to beat fast as he put his right arm over my shoulder. My heart jumped out into my throat when he softly touched my cheek with his left hand and turned my face toward him. He lifted up my chin and he leaned in closer. HE stopped, his lips a centimeter away from mine, stared right into my eyes and right then and there, for that split second, I could see sadness, happiness, anger and a bunch of other emotions I never got to see because his lips touched mine. Softly at first, but it became passionate. He put both hands on the place below my jaw. He slipped his tongue into my mouth and fireworks exploded inside my head and the pit of my stomach.
After what seemed like an hour (the most amazing hour of my life) he pulled away and tenderly looked into my eyes.
