She's laying down, music on.
checkng her phone every few minutes, praying he will text her, knowing he wont. She's wondering what girls he is texting and what girl he has wrapped around his finger. She smiles, their song comes on. It reminds her of everything. She quickly replays every kiss, every hug, every laugh, every date, everything in her mind. She misses him and she misses the way they used to be. A tear slides down her cheek, && finally, she just breaks down. He's over her now, && she wonders
'Why can't I let him go?'♥
He's shooting his basketball.
checking his cell phone in his pocket when it goes off, texting the new girl. Suddenly, she texts him something that reminds him of her... His old her. The girl he was madly in love. The girl that scared him so much to actually let her in and fall in love. So he ran away, breaking her heart in the process. He misses her smile and her laugh and the way he made her feel. He stops texting the new girl, and puts down the basketball. He reads their messages he never deleted, && wishes she would text him. But he knows she's probably over him now, && he wonders

Honestly,,
some of the sexiest things about a guy
is the way his voice sounds when he’s tired,

when i was ten,
my heart was too big for my body
and there was this boy in my class who i hated
because his hair was stupid and his smile was stupid
and i couldn't speak properly when he was around.
i found out he liked my best friend
and that made me feel a bit hollow inside
so i crinkled my nose and hated him more
even when he tried to talk to me.
(have you ever hated someone that way?)
when i was eleven
our teacher sat us next to each other in class.
we laughed at everything with our eyes
and everyone else got annoyed
i'd lie in bed texting him until i fell asleep
(his hair was still stupid.)
when i was twelve,
i was freefalling into destruction,
but he could still make me smile
even when it hurt my heart to do it.
my dad was dying and my skin was scarred,
but he told stupid jokes that made it go away.
(maybe i dotted the i in his name with a heart.)
when i was thirteen,
we only had one class together,
but we sat together every single lesson
and drew on each others' hands
and the teacher thought we were dating.
i liked another guy for most of that year.
(i never told anyone that i liked the first boy, too.)
when i was fourteen,
i dated a tall guy who i didn't like
because i didn't want to admit that maybe i was in love with my best friend,
who made fun of my boyfriend mercilessly.
i dumped him, but i never told him why.
i'm almost fifteen,
and my heart is still too big for my body.
these are all the things i'll never tell him.

You know what I think
we are most afraid of?
Not knowing.
Not knowing whether it’s all really worth it.
Not knowing if you should give up or keep fighting.
Not knowing why you do things you do.
Not knowing the purpose.
It’s like when you’re little
and you touch the stove and get burned,
because you didn’t really know that it was hot.
Not knowing has always hurt us,
from the very beginning.

I want someone
who won’t care that I hate wearing heels,
that I’m incapable of sitting still,
that I can’t grasp the concept of cleaning,

Someone who realizes that half the decisions I make
