Life is Full of Surprises
Chapter 4
Justin’s POV
“Just great! And how about you Ellen?”
“Oh enough about me! Let’s cut right to the chase and start watching these videos. For those of you that don’t know, I sent Justin out on a little quest this weekend. And well, Justin, how was it for you?” She asked me with a little wink. I was starting to get very nervous and confused, but I tried to hide it.
“It was, quite an adventure.” I said with a little, nervous laugh.
“Oh, I bet it was.” She winked again…okay, this is really creeping me out. “I’m about to show you 3 of my favorite videos from Justin’s little, ‘adventure’.”
The first video played. It was the first house I went to. I was walking up onto the front porch, I turned to face the camera with 2 thumbs up and a wink. I laughed to myself at my dorkiness. I knocked on the door, acting freezing. A little girl opened the door, saw me and jumped ontop of me. I couldn’t do anything but catch her. She started screaming of happiness, and when the mom came to the door, she saw me and tried pulling her grasp off of me. When she finally ripped her off of me, I laughed nervously, and spoke up to her. “Hi, um, I’m Justin, and me and my cre-“ I was cut off by her slamming the door in my face. I stood there, stunned, then turned around at the camera, got real close to it and said, “What have you gotten me into Ellen.” And walked away. She then paused the film.
“So, wanna tell us what you were thinking, Justin?” She asked curiously, still laughing like crazy, along with the crowd. I’ll admit it, I was laughing too.
“What I was thinking? Well, I was thinking about getting back in the truck, then rain was freezing.” I laughed a little and so did everyone else, including Ellen.
“Well, let’s go on to my next favorite video. And Justin I’m going to need you to answer some questions after the video…”
“Oh God…” I sounded very nervous.
The next video was the 7th(yes, 7th) house I went to. Oh goodness, I thought to myself, this house… I went up to the porch and knocked on the door. After a couple of seconds, a very tall, muscular teenager answered the door. He stared at me with a blank face, then at the camera then at me again. After what seemed like a long time, he spoke. “Really? You’re kidding me, right?” I swallowed hard, and said, “Not really, um, can we come in and use a phone, please? We’re kinda lost.” He stared at me long and hard, sighed and rolled his eyes. “Fine, come in.” I was walking in when he said something, “but you guys, stay here.” Pointing to the camera men. They all sighed and the door slammed. Ellen paused the clip.
“What happened in there kiddo?” She sounded a little concerned.
“Well, let’s see. He sat me down on his couch, then handed me 2 towels, and a glass of water. Why? I have no clue. Anyway, after drying off a little, he gave me his cell phone, and I pretended to call my mom, when I really called a guy in the truck. I wrote down fake directions, and hung up the phone. When I got up to give it to him, he came up to me quickly, snatched the phone out of my hand, and said, ‘Now, get outa my house. I don’t want to see your face anymore.’” I said chuckling, in my best fake, manly voice.
Everyone laughed, and when it was calmer, Ellen said, “Nice Justin. Glad you turn on everyone in the US. Anyway, now we’re on to my most favorite video, I know you’ll recognize this one kiddo.” She winked, again, and started the clip…
