    a new beginning
    chapter 9
We continued to walk down the road, towards the park, when he reached for my hand. I pulled away, feeling a bit weird. We walked in silence for the rest of the time. When we got to the park, Jake stopped under the entrance sign. I stopped next to him.
"Have you ever just wanted to disappear and see what the world did without you?" Jake asked. I starred at him as he looked up at the sky. It started raining harder. I grabbed Jake's hand and pulled him into the park. He squeezed my hand as I walked out in front of him. "Where are we going Alex?" I smiled. He finally got my name right.
"Just keep walking pretty boy!" I could feel his smile behind me. I dragged him over to the swings where I sat down. He let go of my hand and sat down on the one next to me. I smiled over at him as I kicked of the ground and started to swing. I looked over at Jake smiling at me. I smiled back. He hoped off the swing and stood behind me. Pushing my swing in the pouring rain. I giggled as he pushed me higher and higher. I looked back and saw he smiling and laughing. I could tell he didn't do many fun things all the time. He continued to push me and I continued to smile the whole time. At one point I decided I was going to jump off. He pushed me and as I started to go up, I jumped right off. I landed on my feet but then slipped and fell right in the mud. I heard Jake scream my name from behind me.
"Alexis! Are you okay?" He sounded serious. Perfect. I put on a frown and sat there in the mud.
"My leg hurts." I said stupidly.
"Here let me help you up." Jake said. He gave me his hand and I held it. He tried to get me up but I pulled his hand and he feel in next to me. I laughed. He looked at me and frowned. I frowned back. "I'm sorry Jake I thought.." He smiled at me and moved closer to me...

    chapter 8
    feedback pwease? :)
"So you would really talk to the coach for me?" He asked surprised.
"Let's just say I have conections." I smiled. I knew he was going to ask what I meant by that.
"What do you mean by 'connections'?" I smiled. Right on cue.
"Well my dad went to college with him, so he knows him from that and he's pretty much coached me for soccer my whole life, besides my.." I stopped. I couldn't say it. Are they really my 'Dad' and 'Brother' or just random people. Jake starred at me waiting to finish.
"Besides you?" Jake asked confused. I tried to put on a fake smile, but he saw right through it. "You can tell me." he said shrugging with his hands in his pockets. I starred straight ahead, trying to see through the rain and everything else blowing in the air. It was extremely humid, because of the rain and all. I sigh.
"Well my dad and brother before they left us." I looked down at my feet as we walked. Jake stopped. I stopped too and turned back. "Something wrong Jake?" He starred down at his feet. I thought to myself, what could be wrong?
"It's just, well I know what you mean, my sister just got married so I don't see her at all, and well before then my parents got divorced. I live with my dad, and my now step-mom. I haven't seen my mom since I was 5. I can't even remember what she looks like." He put on the same fake smile I put on. I raised my eyebrows, not falling for it. He then laughed and put on "his smile". I smiled back at him like some idiot, not knowing what else I was supposed to do...

    a new beginning chapter 6
Carter never, never, left home without his phone, yet there it was, sitting on the bed. I walked into the room, not thinking anyone would be there. I stepped into the room and practically had a heart attack.
"Carter? Why are you here? I thought you left?"
He frowned. "I'm not staying I forgot.."
"Your phone.. Yeah I was just coming to see why it was still here."
"Forgot it I guess. But yeah I got to go. I'lI text you later."
Before I even had time to reply, he was gone. I sat down on his bed and cried. I pulled my knees up to my chest, trying to hold myself together. I could feel my phone vibrate again in my pocket. I guess that makes 5 messages. I rolled over onto my side and let go of my knees. I pulled my phone out of my sweatshirt pocket and opened it. 1 message was sent by mom from earlier. Delete. Another one was from my best friend Sam. Delete. The next one was from my dad. I didn't even bother opening it, delete. The next 2 were from by boy friend, Bobby. "Where areyou baby? Haven't seen you all day?" the next one said, "You there?" Delete, and delete. You see, I may be a tom-boy and my life may be falling apart, but at school I'm known as the girl that is friends with everyone, knows everyone, and can pretty much get away with anything, because of Carter. But, know one knows the truth. No one knows my dad is gone, my brother is gone, my mom is a wreck, and everything and everyone is crashing down around me...

not using scroll boxes anymore. they were being super stupid! :]
So I guess you could say I'm starting to "fall for" Jake, which is weird since I just meet him in all.
"No offense Jake, but my mom doesn't like strangers in her house."
"But, you know me. I'm Jake and your Alexis."
"Alex!" I corrected him. "But seriously now isn't a great time to have a random boy in her house."
    "Why not?"
    "Long story.."
"I got time." He said smiling.
"I thought you would say that. Hold on one second." I ran out of the kitchen and down the hall. I stopped at the steps and gave Jake the "one second" look. I ran up the stairs and to my room. I grabbed my phone. 4 new messages. They can wait. I ran out of my room and to the next door down the hall, my parents room. Well now mom's room. I knocked on the door and waited for a reply. Nothing. I knocked again before entering and stepped into the dark room.
"Mom? You in here?" All of a sudden she sat up in bed.
"Yeah sweetie, I'm here." I smiled. She was so strong for everything she has been through.
"Do you mind if I go out for a little, to get my mind off of things?" I asked crossing my fingers behind my back.
    "Sure, be back by 11."
"I'll try. I have my phone if you need me."
I watched as she layed back down and gave a sigh. I turned around and headed out of the room, closing the door behind me. I walked back down the hall, heading for the stairs, when something caught my attention is Carter's room...

    a new beginning
I grabbed my soccer ball, now covered in mud, and threw it in the bin next to the back door. I took my cleats off quickly and waited for Jake to do the same with his shoes. After he was done, I opened the door and walked in. He followed quickly behind me, trying to get out of the cold wet night. Once he was inside he closed the door behind him. I walked over to the basket of closed that was still sitting on the kitchen table and grabbed a pair of Carter's sweats and a T-shirt.
"Here." I said tossing the clothes to him, "Try these on."
"What ever you say miss Alexis." He smiled.
"It's Alex and just try on the clothes. I'll watch Jax for you."
He smiled again. "Thanks, uhhh bathroom?"
"Down the hall and to your right and it's right there."
    "Thanks, be right back."
As he walked by, I stuck my tongue out at him. He made a face at me and continued down the hall. It kind of reminded me of how me and Carter used to tease each other when we were little kids. I frowned to myself, i missed carter already after about 2 hours. I snapped out of it just in time for Jake to come back from the bathroom. Jax was sleeping on the floor, so I decided to let him get his rest.
"Hey. I'm back. How do I look?" He said smiling.
    I smiled back. "Pretty."
He laughed. And I laughed too.
Now that he was in the light, he was super hot!

At first, I thought the dog was the one talking to me, but then I could just barely make out the shape of a body come out from behind the trees. At first I thought it was a killer or rapist or something coming to get me. I sat there frozen in the wet grass. Rain still pouring down. I held the little white dog, afraid that it may run away, like my dad and brother did.
"Hello? I'm sorry if I scared you."
The outline of the person was getting closer and i could feel my heart racing. I continued to sit there and watch as the person came closer, and closer.
"Jax come here boy!" i heard the person call.
The only thing I knew about this person is that they were Jax's owner and a guy. I started to try to get up, but failed and slipped back down.
"Here, let me help you." The guy set Jax down and walked towards me. I could barely make out the hand of the stranger. I grabbed the hand and he pulled me up easily. When I was back on my feet again, Jax jumped up on my legs, trying to get my attention. I laughed as Jax jumped at the stranger and watched as he lost his balance and fell down in the mud.
"Oh my gosh! Are you okay?" I asked, helping him up from the mud.
"I think so. By the way, I'm Jake. And you've already met Jax."
I giggled. "Well nice to meet you Jake. I'm Alexis, Alex for short. Would you like to come inside and dry off?"
    "If that's alright with you."
"I guess so, but you'll need to change out of those clothes."
He smiled and agreed. I think I could like Jake. And Jax....

I ran outside. Eyes full of tears, hair blowing in the wind. I stood there... motionless, in the middle of the street. I watched as he walked down the street, into the darkness. I can't believe this is happening. Not now any ways. We need him more then ever. Why would he want to leave? All he has ever wanted has been here. Love, friendship, family. It's bad enough dad left, but not my brother too.
    |||Into|||
Hi. I'm Alexis. Alex for short. Brown hair, brown eyes, tom boy. I live in South Carolina, born and raised. Honestly, I have never been anywhere else, but there's probably a reason why. I'm athletic, and by athletic I mean extremely athletic! I play soccer mainly, but I could really play any sport I wanted, but I chose soccer. I decided to play soccer since that's what my dad and Carter, my older brother, always played in the front yard. But my dad's gone, and Carter is too. I've thought about quitting soccer, but my best friend, Samantha, Sam for short, wouldn't let me do it. She is more of a priss, I will admit. I mean she convinced me not to quit soccer, but odd enough she doesn't even play, or understand it! Any ways, this year is our senior year, hopefully this year will be my year.
I slowly walked back towards my drive-way. I could just barely see my mom waiting in the doorway of the house. Now it was pouring, and I mean pouring! When I got to the front porch, I stopped. My mom gave me one of those looks and walked back inside and up the stairs. I knew she was trying to be strong by not crying in front of me, but I knew that's what she was going to do. I walked inside and closed the front door slowly behind me. As the door closed, I felt the silence of the house hit me like a ton of bricks. I felt like crying now more then ever....
