    Crashing Down
    Chapter 2.
    “Never…walk…again…?” I stutter.
“It depends how well his legs mend to physical therapy. He will have to learn how to walk all over again; the whole nine yards. Along with the broken legs, he has a concussion, multiple scrapes and bruises, a couple broken ribs, and some internal bruising from where the seatbelt
    caught him.”
“Can I go see him?” I ask quietly.
The Doctor looks at me like I’m crazy. “You actually expect to get out of bed in your condition?”
“Wait, what’s wrong with me? I can’t feel any pain.”
“Good, the morphine is working then. We had to increase your dosage multiple times because you woke up screaming in pain. Honey, you broke your back in the crash. You’re going to be in a wheelchair for the rest
    of your life.”
“Isn’t there anything you can do?!” I cried out. “Can’t you just put a metal rod in my back and call it good? You’re a doctor! Fix me!”
I could hear my heart monitor start to beat more rapidly. That’s when I felt the pain in my back, I moved just a little bit.
    This couldn’t be happening.
“We’re going to try our hardest to figure something out….” That’s when I blocked him out. He started talking a bunch of medical terminology I barely understood. I was a first year vet sci student, so I knew a bit,
    but I was no doctor.
I was only 18, a college student, in a wheelchair, my brother had the possibility of never walking again, and I was never walking again.
    My life is over.

My prayers go out to everyone who was affected by the Connecticut shooting.
This isn't a time for hating, and judging. It's a time to pray for all those in need. This is what sickens me, when I see all these people hating their families and life. Life is too short & tomorrow isn't promised. Be grateful for every day, because you may not see tomorrow. Why can't we all stop hating on each other? Love everyone, even if their not nice back. I wish more people spread love & not hate. Be grateful for your family & tell them you love them everyday because you don't know what can happen tomorrow. Please everyone take a minute to pray for everyone who was affected in this tragedy, prayer is powerful.

    Why?
Why would anybody do this? Have the coruage to walk
into a elementry school and shoot kids and adults. Innocent
kids and adults. I cant imagine what their families and friends are going through. I cant even imagine being there.
Seeing your friends, your classmates get shot.
    Why?
Prayer go out to anyone effected by this.

I will admit, I've never met one of those people effected by the shooting today, and I won't act like I did. But what breaks my heart is the fact that a stranger, can go into an elementary school, and kill innocent children who have done nothing to them. They can just walk in, and kill and injure children and adults, and then run from authorities like babies. At least take your damn punishment, you ruined lives today.

    Shooting In connecticut (http://www.latimes.com/news/nation/nationnow/la-na-nn-connecticut-school-shooting-20121214,0,3154787.story)
At least one gunman attacked a suburban Connecticut elementary school Friday, killing at least two dozen people, including 18 children, law enforcement sources said.
At a televised news conference from Newtown, Conn., State Police spokesman Lt. Paul Vance refused to give an exact number pending notification of the families. Other reports place the number of dead at Sandy Hook Elementary at 27, including the children.
“There were several fatalities at scene, students and staff,” Vance said. “There will be no other information until families are told.”
The gunman was dead at the scene, Vance said, adding that there was no longer any danger to the public.
“It’s still an evolving crime scene and it’s just hours old,” Daniel Curtin, a FBI special agent in Connecticut, said. “And it’s obviously very tragic. All we’re saying is that the FBI and our agents have a presence there to assist in any way possible. Because right now it’s a Connecticut state and local investigation at this point. But in times of trial like this we work together.”
Law enforcement sources in Washington said the gunman was in his early 20s and was the father or another relative of one of the children. He had four or more weapons and was wearing a bulletproof vest.
A weapon was recovered at the scene.
According to sources, the event began with an argument with the principal. Some of the staffers were shot first, then the gunman advanced on a classroom, shooting.
Carney wouldn't say whether the shooting would make gun control a higher priority on the president's agenda, but he said there would be a day for discussion on that policy issue. In Washington, President Obama was briefed on the shooting, spokesman Jay Carney said.
“But I don't think today is that day,” he said.
At least three wounded have been taken to a hospital inDanbury, Newtown Mayor Mark D. Boughton confirmed.
“I can’t discuss who they are but some injuries are serious,” Boughton said.
In a statement posted on its website, Danbury Hospital said: “To date, three patients have been transported to Danbury Hospital from the scene.
"Out of abundance of caution and not because of any direct threat our building is under lockdown. This allows us simply to focus on the important work at hand,” the hospital stated.
Officials were still investigating the incident, which began at about 9:40 a.m. EST at the school inNewtown, a town of about 27,000 people.
Within hours, officials were reporting that the gunman was found dead and two handguns were recovered at the scene.
Stephen Delgiadice told reporters that his 8-year-old daughter heard two big bangs and teachers told her to get in a corner. His daughter was fine.
“It's alarming, especially in Newtown, Conn., which we always thought was the safest place in America,” he said.
The superintendent's office said the district had locked down schools in Newtown, about 60 miles from New York City. Nearby schools also were locked down as a security measure.
This litterally brought me to tears....I might not know the people who died but it kills me to know other families are extremely devestated to find out their child could possibly be dead, right before the holidays...... I just, there are no words to explain how devasting this is.

    My prayers go out to,
all the 5 and 6 year old babies who were shot & killed today.
the mothers and fathers of those babies.
the kindergarten teacher who was the mother of the man who murdered the kids and herself.
    the families of the kindergarteners.
and all the other parents who heard about this tragic event and couldn't stop crying.
this happened all because the 20 year old was mad at his mom.....
so he decided to go and kill 18 innocent kindergartners.
it sickens me that this is what the world has come to
and god let this happen today only 10 days before christmas.
he's letting those families suffer this holiday....why?
my sister is a 5 year old who is in kindergarten and i can't even imagine what
it feels like to never have her come home from school.....
rest in paridise to all the victims.

    Dear shooter,
when you killed those children, you not only affected their familys,
but millions of people around the world.
You took away another future for each of the children you killed.
For every child you killed, you took somones son, someones daughter, a niece, a nephew, a grandson, a grandaughter, someones soulmate, someones bestfriend.
You took away a possible president, a possible noble prize winner, a possible war hero, maybe even a doctor who would find the cure for cancer.
When you killed those staff members,
you killed a mother, a father, a brother, a sister, an aunt, an uncle, even a grandma or grandpa. You took away a wife, a husband, a fiance.
You took away someone elses whole world.
    Sincerely,
you were a waste of human life.

    28 dead.
Including the 20-year-old gunman himself and his mother, the principal of Sandy Hook Elementary School, at least 18 children, and others who worked there. On December 14th, my 8-year-old cousin watched his best friend die. Harmless children had their future taken away from them for no reason, and the children who survived had their innocence taken away. Adults had the light of their lives stolen from them, and will have to face going back to an empty house and seeing Christmas gifts they got for their kids that will now never be opened.
How could someone be so cruel?
