Where do i start?
I miss you so so so much, it's unbelievable. I miss seeing you every week, Eating your last peice of cherry cake you saved for me, having you cut a pack of mints in half to share and giving me the big half. Giving me the last few coins in your wallet. How about the time when nan wouldn't let me have any coke so i secretly drank it from the bottle and you caught me... That will always be out little secret. Every memory i shared with you means so much. Getting the ball from the shed and throwing it around the garden, going to the beach and sitting in the car because we would much rather read a book than wander around shops with nan... Me making that face with my mouth that i've done since i was a baby, and you saying i'd end up looking like a crocodile.. Haha, that always made me laugh :) And that's one of the reason i loved you so much. Your humour. Those jokes you told me and told me not to tell mum and nan because they would moan at you. I only told mum, and she laughed because she knew that's the sort of thing you would do. Telling me stories of when you were a boy, after world-war II, you and your brother went around town and picked up an unexploded bomb and took it home. I don't know how you lived through that one, but i guess that was your mum looking over you :) I was named after your mum.. obviously you know that... That reminds me.. when i was born and you came to see me only a few hours after and i had a large egg like bump on my head, and you panicked and thought it was something wrong. You always said i wasn't a very attractive baby.. but then again, an egg out of your head, yellow skin and dark purple eyes isn't a very satisfying sight.
Grandad, some days i wake up only to realise or remember that you're gone. That it wasn't all just a dream and that i can no longer sit and watch friends with you on tv. That i can't try and kiss your cheek as hard as i could ever imagine ever again. Feeling your stubble on my cheeks, or smelling your cologne. That i couldn't hug you with your jacket on when you got home from the pub, smelling of ciggarettes and mints.
Grandad,
i would literally give anything else in the world up just to have you back. You meant so much to be. I'm practically blaring my eyes out now only writing this. What's left are the memories, your necklace and the photo's. And if they ever get taken away from me, i probably would commit suicide. At least that way i would see you again, up in heaven with some of the family.
Grandad, your like a star.
