I feel the need to intrude on this. When someone posts something saying that they are on the verge of killing themselves, it is in fact, for attention. You're right. Now, let's try to imagine what may be going through a person's head that they get so low they feel the need to post something saying that. If they're attempting to get help from random strangers, it means a) they don't have any friends or b) their friends turned them down. Them admitting they want to kill themselves is them saying "Help me." So why, I must ask, make them feel worse by saying things like "attention wh-re"? I advise you to read the book 13 Reasons Why. It shows how we all have a part in person's suicide. Did you know someone once when to I think it was the Brooklyn Bridge and decided if one person smiled at him, he would not die? Nobody smiled. There are people who things just for attention, and then there are people who do things because they need that attention. Now, you're probably also one of those people who are like "Well they should go get help or something." Have you ever been to therapy? Therapy doesn't help. Therapy is a person trying to "fix you". That's all therapists are set on. Fixing you. Getting inside your head. Therapy does not help. Most people just need someone to listen, not tell them why they're the way they are. They don't need someone to tell them "It gets better" but to understand that at the moment, things are broken. Hannah, in 13 Reasons Why, would've been alive if someone had not said whoever wrote "I'm thinking about killing myself" was just doing it for attention. So learn. Listen. Realize. Just because your life may be great does not mean everyone else's is. And pain is not something a person can fight off. It demands to be felt. reply
