Kaia;
I had nothing better to do, so I settled for hanging with Justin and Ryan.
"I never noticed how hot she was," Ryan whispered to Justin. Justin smacked him across the head and told him to shut up. They thought I didn't hear them, but I did.
"So, Kaia, that's a cool name," Ryan said to me, trying to make conversation.
"Thanks."
I was tense and angry. I absolutely hated when guys called me 'hot'.
"No problem. No problem at all."
I rolled my eyes and without even realizing it, I grabbed Justin's hand. I didn't like him more than a friend, it just happened. I didn't even realize that I did that.
Justin;
I knew that she didn't mean to hold onto my hand, but I took it as an opportunity.
"Justin, can we go somewhere that's not . . . Here? Please," Kaia begged me, quickly.
"What? What's wrong?" I asked her.
"Nothing, just drop it, please."
I looked around to see what she was so upset about. The blond that she was with at the pizza place was with this guy, who I assumed was Griffin.
We got out of there quickly, and went back to my house. Mom, of course, was home. Damn it. She was going to embarrass me, I knew it.
"Mom, we're home!" I screamed into the quiet house. She appeared out of no where.
"Hi, I'm Patti. You must be Kaia? Justin has been obsessed with you lately. You're just as pretty as he says you are."
I noticed Kaia's face turn pink and she smiled.
"Mom, you can stop now. Thanks for embarrassing me."
She didn't reply, she just went back upstairs. That was weird.
I turned my attention back to Ryan, who was just standing there, staring at me. I rolled my eyes and told them to follow me to my room.
Kaia laughed as she kicked through my mess of clothes. She jumped on my bed and sat with her legs hanging off the edge.
"So, you guys wanna watch me on TV?" I asked them.
"No," they both answered.
"Fine."
Kaia's phone rang, and she answered it cautiously.
"Hey, Ayla. . . . Again? . . . . No, I'm at a friend's house . . . . Well, I'm not coming home. She can pretend to care all she wants, I'm staying here. . . . I'll see you later. Love you, too."
She hung up the phone and threw it on my bed. I looked at her and raised an eyebrow.
"That was my sister. Mom wants me home again," she explained.
"Isn't your sister, like, six?" I asked.
"Yeah, but I have another sister. Ayla. We're twins," she said.
"Theres two of you?" Ryan asked. Kaia shook her head.
"We don't look alike, you idiot."
"Wait, why aren't you going home?"
"Because my mother hates me. I already told you, Justin."
