So I liked a girl in my year, and me, thinking that I could trust her and that we were close to each other, well, she told four other girls. Two of which spread the fact that I was a lesbian around the whole school. I've always known I've liked girls. Because it was never just a simple "girl crush." It was always something more. I just.. I loved girls. And now I'm dating a girl. I'm dating a girl, and luckily, we haven't been discriminated against yet. People honestly do not realise the struggle that us people part of LGBTQ community. Everyday we struggle to fit in. To stop discrimination against us. Yes. We say that we don't care. But deep down all we're thinking is, "If only you got to know me. Then maybe you'd actually like me. If only you could look past my sexual orientation." But it just seems all to hard for some.
Homophobia is a main cause of suicide.
One comment could push someone. And you could've killed someone. Just by making fun of them with a few simple words.
We are the generation of change. And I really do hope we can change this. In the US and the UK.
