No, no, no, sorry! That's wrong! I mean I'd love for it to be true, too, but it's not. At all.

We havent won, not yet. This is only a start. We have to fight for social (and frankly economical in the grand scheme of things) as well. Under the law, we've won the right to marry who we love. But that won't stop others from trying to ruin us every step of the way. We've made an accomplishment, but we haven't won. It will be a long, long time before we win.

I really, really hate to burst your bubble here because I would absolutely LOVE for it to be legal in all 50 states, but that isn't what happened.
They ruled that in states where it already is legal, the state government has to recognize same- marriages and grant them the same rights as a "regular" married couple.
I'm not entirely sure if they overruled Prop 8 here in California, but considering all my friends are posting on Facebook about it, I think they did, so that would mean the only new state where same- marriage is legal is California. :/ reply
