The Last Dance♥
Chapter Nine...
Flashback to 6th grade.
I was sitting in Starbucks before school talking to Sally while she made my drink. "Oh come on...You've gotta like Someone!" She said. I smiled. "Well there's this one guy..." I said, rolling my eyes. Sally squeeled as she hit the button to blend my drink. "We're best friends. We tell eachother everything. He's nice, and sweet, and caring." Sally nodded. "Sounds cute. Does he come in here often?" I was about to say yes when the bells above the door rang. I remember feeling the butterflies grow in my stomach as I watched him carry his longboard in the store. "Hey Elyssa!" Jon said, hugging me. "What's up?" I was a nervous wreck. I opened my mouth to say something, anything, but nothing came out. "Tall Double Chocolatey Chip Frap for Elyssa." Sally said. I turned around quickly, leaving Jon there without an answer. "Thats Him!" I hissed at Sally. Her eyes lit up. "Well say something! He's still there!" She said back. I turned back around, drink in hand. Jon was standing there, smiling at me. "Um, nothing much....You?" I said. "Same. Excited for the math test?" 'Math test?' I thought. "Psh, yeah." I said, trying to look cool. I stood next to him in line as he ordered. When he turned to talk to me, Cody got my attention. 'HIM?!' He mouthed. I smiled and nodded. Cody gave me a thumbs up as Jon and I walked to get his drink. "Hey, do you need a ride to school?" I checked my watch. "Crap!" I said. I have to walk to school from here and I was going to be late. "Don't worry, you won't be late." Jon said. We finished our drinks, and then walked outside. "Wait, how are you giving me a ride? Your parents are working..." Jons parents worked as doctors, so they had to be on the job all the time. "Yeah, well I have this." Jon said, holding up his longboard. I laughed. "We can't both fit on that!" Jon laughed and put an ear-bud in one ear. "Come on, it'll be fun." He said, holding out his hand, inviting me on his board.
Well aparently 2 people can fit on the board, if you stand really close. I had my hands on his shoulders and our bodies were touching. 'Tell him you like him now!' Sally would tell me. I couldn't. I really couldn't. It would ruin our friendship. I wanted to, but I knew it wouldn't be good. "Jon..." I said, taking a deep breath. He put his foot on the ground as we reached the doors to the school. I couldn't do it. "Thanks for the ride!" I said, trying to cover up. "No problem. See you in homeroom!" He said as he walked away.
