I sat in the grey room, staring face to face with the officer. I looked at his name tag,
Officer Evans.
"So, Morgan, where were you yesterday?" He said, fidgiting in his chair.
This is ridiculous, why are the questioning me?
Why would I kill my parents?
"I was at my friend's house. I've told you this a thousand times."
"Just trying to cross out all the options, Miss. Who's house were you you at?"
I looked around the room, thinking of the events that happened.
My parents were killed.
This shouldn't be happening to me, to us.
Now, I'm in some dumb room, being questioned by some dumb officer.
"Evelyn. I was at my friend, Evelyn's house all day, then I spent the night."
I leaned down on the metal table, and rubbed my temples. I got a headache just thinking about it.
"I know this is hard for you, but you have to stay with me Morgan." He sternly said.
Way to have a heart, Justin and mine world's just came crumbling down, and he act like he doesn't even care.
"Now, is there anyone who would want to hurt your parents?"
No. They were the perfect people. Part of the school board. An active part in our tight-nit community.
"No."
"No one at all?" Sweat fell of his brow. Gosh, what was he so nervous about?
"No, everyone loved them."
A few tears rolled down my cheeks.
This officer was just annoying.
"Okay, were done here Morgan." He stood up, and led me out to the door. There another officer was waiting with Justin.
It was his turn now.
