I waled home after school that day. So Rose had seen the prison tattoos. I'm lucky she didn't spot the bullet scar. That could have sparked an outrage. I was turing the corner to my house when I heard it. The police siren wailing behind me. I spun around, face to face with one officer pointing a gun at me. "Hands up! Put your hands where I can see them!" he yelled at me. I smirked and ran at him. he shot his gun; the bullet whizzed by my left ear. I reached the man about five seconds later. I kicked out his knees, sending him flying towards the ground. I stomped onto his hand as he tried to retrieve his gun. I grasped it before he could. I emptied it into the air. "Wouldn't what to hurt anyone, would we?" I whispered into his ear. He shook his head. I stepped off his hand. Immediately he called for help, but I was already blocks ahead of him. I reached my house, breaking the handle as i flew in. "Mom, Dad, Mike. Cops. Here. Run!"My family materialized from upstairs. They had previously packed bags slung over their shoulders. We all raced out to the black sports car we owned...or rather we had stolen.

We stopped at a safe house, about 50 miles from the city. Inside we found fellow crime members. All of the faces were familiar. Except one. And it belonged to Brian.

We walked in to the lunchroom. It was buzzing with excitement. All they eyes turned to Rose, Clove, Mia and I. We all smiled and walked up to order lunch. The three popular girls all ordered small salads. I orders as much food as I could which would be a hamburger, a salad, a side of carrots and a pudding cup.When you're running from the law, you need to pack away lots of calories. We walked over to a very full table. "Ahem, we're going to sit here. Scram." Rose said in a soft, but somehow deadly voice. The table was emptied in a matter of seconds.
"So, Kaycee. Where in California did you move here from?" Clove questioned. "Malibu. It was so nice there. Warm, salty air. New York is stuffy. Not enough space to run freely." I answered, stuffing my face full of salad. Mia was next,"Ew, do you know how many calories are in that burger? Like, fat haven!" She sounded disgusted. I smiled bitterly,"I just...need the extra calories,ok?" I sounded forceful, bitter. We talked about school, boys and of course, me. Then we got up to head to the next class, gym. "So guys, whats next?" I asked, trying to sound cheery. In union they replied "Gym class." I nodded as we headed for the High School Gym.

Undressing was my problem. Not that I was self conscience, not because I was fat, but because I had several prison tattoos and a bullet scar above my hip. As soon as I pulled off my shirt, Rose gasped. "Kaycee, what are those!" she said, mortified. I look down to where she was pointed. The tattoos. Four of them, each representing a different inmate whom I had befriended. "Those are tattoos, Rose." I told her not to ask anything else, or soothing very bad would happen.

I got to school at exactly 8'o'clock. I glided into my homeroom and took a seat in from of everyone else. I could feel all the eyes turn to me. I turned around and gave them all an overly sweet smile. The teacher walked in. He was probably about 26 and was very good looking. I gave him a small wink and and then he started to talk. " Class, welcome back. I hope your summer was wonderful! As you can see, we have a new student this year. Her name is Kaycee Star and she moved her from..." He didn't know where I came from. "I came all the way from California to New York." I lied smoothly. He continued. "Class, say hello now. And please, introduce yourselves!" He said. This shouldn't take long. There was only about 20 kids in the class. They had exotic names like Rose, Clove and Mia. At least, the popular girls had exotic names. Everyone else had bland ones like Emily and Mikki. One of the jock boys caught my eyes. His name was Brian. I smiled at him and waved. He glared back at me. What a jerk. The bell rang about 50 minutes later.After the class was over, Rose, Clove and Mia walked over to me. " So, Kaycee, wanna eat lunch with us? I mean, we're the most popular girls in school!" I nodded and we walked off to the cafeteria. "By the way," Clove started, "I'm totally loving your shirt!"
I felt like this was a great start, for a fugitive.

I was jolted awake my the sound of my alarm clock. Stupid thing. Didn't it know I was having a dream about Harry Styles? But I'm glad I'm awake. Today is the first day of school. We had just moved here too, so I didn't know anyone. Oh, well, I bet you want to know a little bit about me, right? Well, let's see. I'm Kaycee. I'm 16 and a sophomore in high school. I'm a brunette with light blue eyes and deeply tanned skin. I'm almost always popular at school. This year should be no exception. I hopped out of bed and slipped on a light pink shirt that said "Always Gonna Be Cute" on it. I pulled on a white min skirt with bright yellow pumps. After about ten minutes of straightening my hair and applying makeup, I bounced down stairs. "Morning Mom, Dad, Mike." I said my little brothers name with a glare. Then I gave my parents a big, sweet smile. "Well, I'm off to school. See you later, love you!" I walked out the door, ready to meet my new classmates.
