~How relationships should work~
A girl meets a guy, possibly through other friends. They flirt for a bit. At the end of the night he asks her if she’d like to go on a date sometime.
They go on a few dates and get to know each other. They talk about friends, likes, dislikes, thoughts, and opinions. They’ll jokingly argue over silly things and finally agree to disagree.
At the end of the next date, right before they’re about to go their separate ways, they hug. Then, they look in each others’ eyes, and share their first kiss.
One day, he’ll take her out on the best date they’ve been on so far. In the middle of the date he grabs her hand, looks her in the eye, and asks her to be his girlfriend.
They’ll continue to go on dates.
He meets her family.
She meets his.
More hugs.
More kisses.
One day, they’re alone, having a deep conversation. Possibly, sharing secrets only trusted in each other. Tears might be shed as one comforts the other. Then, they’ll look into each other’s eyes. And one says, “I love you.”
And the other says “I love you, too.”
Then, they have their first fight. Screaming, name-calling, empty threats, and meaningless comments will be thrown about. Neither will win this fight.
After a bit of the silent treatment, they both become weak.
One night, he sneaks up to her window, like many nights before, and says,
“I’m sorry.”
She smiles and forgives him, sealing it with a kiss.
In the end,
maybe they stay together.
and maybe they don’t.
But that doesn’t change the fact that they once loved each other.
And nothing can sever the bonds they once had.
