Chapter 1 Part 1
June 1st 2001-
Trevor's Point of View
"Come on! Go!"
"Dude, shut up."
"No, today is the last day of senior year and I plan to enjoy my summer. GO!"
"You’re the one that chose to drive this way Brad."
"You’re the one that chose to drive with me Trev."
Dang, he had a point there. I could have walked, gotten a ride with someone else, anything really. Of all the ways I chose to get to the last day of school, the last day of this hell hole, I chose to drive with Brad.
Actually, it wasn't that bad. Sure traffic was a killer but I was kind of being overly grouchy. Doesn't exactly help though when after months of planning to spend the summer before college with your girlfriend, than she suddenly ends everything. In one dinner, everything was going great. I was telling her about some of the places I wanted to go and a few movies coming out, then BOOM! She just looks up and says "We're over". I mean, come one. I am not trying to be all woe is me right now but that was pretty harsh right?
"Trev, are you pouting of Natalie again?" Brad asked while trying to weave in and out of cars.
"No."
"Okay, seriously, we need to find you someone. Someone that you can have a good summer with and break it off before school starts again. This whole pouting thing is seriously a downer."
"Sorry to be raining on you perfect happy couple parade." I grumbled.
"Oh God, now your doing that? Fu- Seriously?! What the heck was that?!" He was screaming at the road. Again.
Bradley Stewart was the live in the moment type. Don't commit any problems. He has been like that ever since we met in fourth grade and that is why he has been my best friend since then. Unfortunately, I shared a little different feeling on some issues. He wanted to be a Big-Bucks-Business man type. He didn't look like it but he was a genius with numbers and a threat to humanity with business plans. He also had a bad temper and at times it showed (exhibit A: Traffic). Other times though, he knew how to redirect that anger into plans. He could sink business when he gets like that. He can be a real snake. Definitely not someone I would want to cross.
