Just a word
Chapter 2
He smiled at me.
"So." he began, "Do you wanna take a walk on the boardwalk no name?"
I giggled, "Sure. Let me go grab my wallet. Come with me."
We both stood up and walked towards my house.
"Tori, is that you?" My mom yelled at me.
Sh/t. I looked at Jonah and he smiled.
"Yeah mom, its me. I'm grabbing my wallet."
"Okay."
Jonah started laughing, "Hey Tori." He said smiling brightly.
I took a glance at him and realized he had this beach boy look to him.
The way his hair flipped covering his eyes. The way his bright, white smile stood out against his dark, muscular-.
'OMG.' I yelled at myself in my head, 'Snap out of it.'
"Okay. My secret is revealed. I'm going to go grab my wallet, one second." I said before running up the stairs.
My head was filled with his smile and laugh.
I found my wallet and I ran downstairs.
"Hey, welcome back cutie." he spoke once I got downstairs.
"Hey." I said. "Lets go."
He led the way out of my house and down the beach, to the boardwalk.
The whole walk down there, we talked.
"So. Where did you move down here from?" He asked casually.
"I'm from Michigan." I answered knowing his next question.
"You from da D?" He asked in a ghetto, giggly voice.
I looked at him, "No. I wasn't raised in the ghetto or the D." I said in sharp, annoying tone.
He looked at me and put his arms out, "Ouch. Sorry." He said not being able to hold his smile.
"EYYYY. JONAH." Someone screamed walking down the boardwalk.
Jonah looked up and smiled "Hey Austin."
The kid named Austin ran towards us. "Woah, hello there." He said holding his hand out and winking at me.
I shook his hand, "Hey."
"So beautiful. Do you have a name?" He asked smiling.
I rolled my eyes at the repetitive pick up line.
"Already tried that one on her bro." Jonah said pushing him aside.
"Awe f/ck man. You always gotta go this hot manes." Austin said.
I let my eyebrow rise, "Oh. Does he?"
Jonah blushed, "Hey. It's not my fault I'm a stud." He said smiling.
I nodded my head, annoyed. He was just another player.
"Hey beautiful," Austin said to me, "I'm having a bonfire tomorrow. Maybe Austin can bring you and you can meet more of our friends." He smiled at me brightly.
"Yeah, you should come. It'll be fun." Jonah said agreeing.
I nodded. "Sure. Where is it at?"
"I'll come and pick you up if you want." Jonah said.
Austin snickered.
"Sure. Sounds good."
"You guys better be there by 9." Austin said.
I smiled. "Don't worry. I'll be there."
Austin nodded. "Good. See you there beautiful."
"Its Tori." I said smiling.
"Tori. Have a good day. You too bro." Austin said giving Jonah a handshake.
Once Austin left Jonah turned to me, "So. You make me guess your name but you tell Austin it right away?" He asked annoyed.
I smiled, "Its not like you wouldn't have told him anyway."
"You owe me now."
I looked at him, "For what?" I asked.
"For unfair treatment." He said smiling.
I rolled my eyes, "What do you want?"
He looked around, "Hmm..." He said thinking, "You have to wear my hoodie tomorrow to the bonfire."
"Ugh. Fine. But isn't it going to be hot?"
"Nope, California nights are freezing. I'll bring it with me when I come over" He winked at me.
"Uh. Your phone is ringing." He said pointing to my vibrating boob.
I blushed embarassed.
"Tori. Come home. Its late." My mom said too me.
I looked at my phone and realized it was amost 7.
"Wow. Time flies." I said in awe. "I have to go home. See you tomorrow." I said smiling.
"Give me your number," He said pulling out his iphone.
We exchanged numbers and he smiled, "Bye cutie."
I smiled, "Bye."
