I see you came across my Witty. Congrats. My name is Shelby, I'm seventeen and a senior in high school. I live in a small town in southeastern Iowa. Those four words up there mean the absolute world to me. Without any of them, I wouldn't be the person I am today, or the person I will be in the future. My family is disfunctional, but who's isn't? My parents are divorced and have been since I was ten. My dad has brain and lung cancer as of December 2012. I have an older brother named Skylar, who will be 21 this fall. My childhood was living hell for me, but I won't go into details, if you really wanna know, you can ask. My friends are imperfectly amazing. I can be listening to rap one second, and then change to a Christian song, then to a country song, then to a oldies rock song. All music means something, if someone can relate to it. No music is bad music unless there is no meaning behind it. Music has been there for me, when people weren't. Its able to say words that I can't say or express my feelings. I would go crazy if I didn't have my music. Lastly, but certainly not least, God. Jesus Christ is my one and only Savior. Without him, I would be no one. He is there for me when no one else is, and speaks to me when I don't know the answers. He listens to me, and in the darkness, He gives me light. I recently went to a work camp for youth group where about 400 teens come together from across the nation and work on the homes of low income and/or people with disabilites. It really opened my eyes on how blessed I truely am. My connection with God is extremely better since work camp and I plan on doing mission trips as a life career now. I'm going to San Diego in September and Haiti this spring. To sum it all up, my family is the greatest, my friends are the best, music is amazing, and God is everything. <3

One of my best friends, Taylor, just found out that her dad could die in a matter of days. He has something wrong with his kidneys and his heart is enlarged. His blood pressure is also extremely high, if it doesn't go down, there is nothing the doctors can do. All I'm asking for is prayers for her dad and her family. Put yourself in her place, wouldn't you feel good, knowing that hundreds of strangers are praying for your dad?

Taylor is legit my best friend. He has been there through everything. And let's just say that we had a lot of plans. My whole future was based around us. And I can't tell you what he's doing 'cause I don't know. I don't know if he doesn't want me anymore or if he just doesn't wanna talk to me cause of the distance or what.

No. Cause I know what it's like to really like someone but have them be in love with someone else. It sucks. It sucks knowing no matter how hard you try, you are never going to be that person. And to know that one day, you can have the person of your dreams right in front of you and the next, they can be gone and they go back to the person who they're in love with.
