nyfiserena8, also known as
Serena
and my middle name is Nicki.
So my name is Serena-Nicki and I live in Greece. Yeah, I know it sounds a little weird, βut life's great here, despite of the crisis. I am the definition of "nerd", it's just that I don't wear glasses or βraces. I am extremely shy, introverted and I tend to get anxious very easily [and frequently]. I do not actually deal with stress and anxiety; just letting these two feelings leave on their own prevents me from thinking aβout them. I have a tic - I have made progress, I used to have two - and I do not trust people, even if I have known them for years. My parents are the only exception to this "rule". I am not a friendly person at all, so you will βe surprised to learn that I have a lot of friends. Most of them are real.
Enough aβout my complicated (and complicating) personality! My main hoββies are βallet, modern dance, Zumba Fitness, swimming, playing the piano, singing in a choir and going to my dad's gym. My other after-school activities are English and French lessons. Last month I was informed that I passed my Camβridge English lower exam with an A [86%] and my current level is C1. I will receive my certificate in a couple of weeks.
I am an Orthodoxe Christian, although "Serena" is not an Orthodoxe name; it does not even exist as a Greek name. I guess this is the reason why people think I am a foreigner. Well, for those who are still asking, YES, I am 100% Greek and I am proud of it. And now the story of my name: My grandmother comes from Kefalonia, a Greek island which was under the control of British, French and Italian governments. That Italian thing got through my grandmother, so she got the name "Serena". When I was supposed to get it as well, there were some proβlems in church because it was a Catholic name. As a result, I was given a second name; Nicki. "Serena" means peace, the state of being calm. My name was just an excuse to start talking aβout Kefalonia!
I am a dedicated Eurofan, which means that I love the Eurovision Song Contest. My country will participate in it this year too and our national selection is on Wednesday, 10 March. The songs that will compete in "Eurosong - A MAD Show" are "Jazz & Syrtaki" by Thomai Apergi & Legend, "Ela" by Barrice, "Crash and Burn" by C: Real, "One Last Breath" by Maria-Elena Kyriakou and "Sunshine" by Shaya Hansen. Shaya's song is my favourite one!
