Date who you want. Don't date who you don't want. Always say what you feel and don't be afraid to be blunt. Try new things. Go through your phases even if it's for attention. Spend time with people who treat you well. Don't hang out with people that you don't want to. Hop from guy to guy- at least you'll know what you're interested in. DO NOT care what people think of your decisions.
There is nothing "selfish" about making your happiness a priority.

All girls at some level are insecure. We're all self-conscious about something to a point. I might not harm myself but I don't always think highly of myself. We're not perfect. Last night Demi Lovato's Stay Strong documentary aired on MTV. She has SO much courage to face her fears and her tell the world about her problems. We might have found out about her going into rehab but not her side of the story. Rehab has helped her so much and it was the best for her. For anyone that has emotional issues, eating disorders, cutting, etc. Get help. Seek attention. But most of all,
    STAY STRONG.
You can get through it. I have faith in you.

If you really think about it, sports don't "evolve" very much. You might have faster players. People might get stronger. Height goes up. It's only the people a part of the team. The game itself doesn't really change. Cheerleading keeps evolving. It keeps getting more physically demanding and structured. The expectations keep getting higher. Years ago all cheerleaders did was jump, do a cartwheel and a thigh stand or something. Now, you have girls twisting and flipping over 10 feet in the air. This sport is just going to keep getting harder and harder.
Oh, & did you see that? I said S-P-O-R-T.

    CHEERLEADING.
    THE NEVER ENDING DEBATE.
A week ago xxlaurenxx12 made a quote saying "what makes cheerleading a sport?". I read through a majority of the comments to see everyone else's input. Honestly, how ISN'T cheerleading a sport? A sport is defined as an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others. Cheerleading is physical. Let's break apart a stunt group. The backspot holds everything together. If she gives up, the whole stunt goes up. It's one of the hardest jobs. There are the two bases. As bases, you "throw" the flyer in the air. It is difficult if the flyer is not doing her job. It's all leg muscle and if you don't do it right you'll end up hurting your back The flyer has to squeeze everything in her body while she's up in the air. Stunting is a team effort. Try doing it for 2:30 while yelling as loud as you can. How isn't tumbling physical? Learning how to do a round off back handspring or even more doesn't come naturally. It takes time, dedication and hard work. Cheerleading does take skill. Competitve cheerleading.... hence the word competitive. As in, we do compete against other teams which makes it a sport. Oh look, I hit ALL the points of the definition. Wow. Crazy isn't it? Some people say that cheerleading is for wimps or that we cry when we get hurt. No, we do not. If we get hurt, we pull through and keep going. We don't give up. Ever. You finish the round. Four girls on my team already have back problems but they suck it up and still cheer because they love the sport. Cheerleading takes a lot of time and dedication. You spend three hour practices nitpicking everything to get it perfect. Some people commented how we need to "calm down". The ONLY reason we feel so strongly is because people underestimate cheerleading. We make it look easy. We keep a smile on our face no matter how much pain we're in. Her point was how softball is really difficult. My sister is a softball player and I'm stronger than her... wow, weird! Softball players might condition but trust me, we do too. Cheerleading is a team sport. You have to work together no matter what. Girls tend to have attitudes but you learn to deal with them and get over it. But the best thing about cheerleading? It's not the trophies or awards. It's the feeling you get after you perform. Cheerleaders are role models. Every time I get on the floor I always think about the fact that there is someone in the stands who want to be just like me. I need to inspire her(:
