When my fiancee and I first met, we lived 36 hours away from each other, 4 months after we started dating I went to visit him, and I never went home, cause I got pregnant. By accident, we've been together over 2 years and have a 14 month old together and are getting married in a year. So if anything relationship for you two has a better chance of working out then mine. thanks for sharing and I'll make to sure to try and get things across to him...but even if i get him to understand there still stands a problem...I don't want anyone to come between me and my family and my dad is completely against me dating colored people and this guy colored...any advice on that?

And my parents hated my fiancee when they met him, and for a while after he got me pregnant, but once they saw how he really was they started to like him, so try, put your self in both peoples shoes and make them see what's good about each other.

Your parents can't forbid you from going out with him, your dad's stereotyping this person, just cause he's colored it doesn't mean he's like everyone else, you need to get your dad to see what he's doing is a bit , and try and get these two people talk, but he's a dad so more then likely he's trying to find a reason for you to not date cause he doesn't want you to get hurt. But do talk to him.

i don't think he wants a reason for me not to date...he doesn't care if i date as long as Im not dating a colored guy...and no matter how much i talk to dad about me dating a colored guy he won't change his mind about it...he is and he will openly admit to it

I don't know, that's a tough one. I want to tell you to date this guy anyway, but I don't want to ruin your family life. Try talking to your mom?? Maybe she can help you persuade your dad.
