Straight, gay & everything in between, what does it matter?
Straight But Not Narrow is a group, charity, a sanctuary even, supporting gay youths and teens. Recently, there has been many amazing campaigns and charities fundraising for gay youths. Yet, the one thing they lack, is the message that should be sent out, to young, straight people. It's out of order that gays should get treated differently, bullied and harrased, just because of their sexuality. It disgusts me, that some people can be so heartless because everyone deserves a choice. So whether you like girls, guys, both, or neither, it's not just the people you date that build a personality. This campaign is a fight against homophobia. It was created by Avan Jogia, whom many of you may recognise from the Nickelodeon show 'Victorious' and has celebrity backers such as Josh Hutcherson and Daniella Monet.

Survivor; Chapter 1
I'd barely been back from summer camp a week when it all started. The name calling, the pointing. And this is how it all began...
"Freya!?" I heard the gruff voice call from the kitchen. I trudged down the stairs, not daring to look in that direction. Finally, I entered the kitchen. My father was stood there, face red with either anger - the most likely - or embarassment - the least likely. He was holding my phone, scrolling through texts. "Who is this boy, Brandon, who you have been messaging?" He clicked on a message and pointed at the words.
'Theres a prty 2nite r u comin? x ;)'
"D-dad he's my boyfriend, you know that, Jessica said she told you." I muttered. Jessica was my step mother, a woman I neither trusted nor spoke to. He moaned on, complaing how she never told him, how I shouldn't have a boyfriend and how I was grounded for a week. Then he stormed off into his study and slammed the door. It was all fine, all those years ago. We'd been a picture perfect family. I'd been the innocent daughter, daddy's little girl who'd wear the pretty dresses, go to church, never have a boyfriend, and get the highest grades. Mum had been the stay at home type, spent every spare moment perfecting the new house, making sure no one would spot the odd coffee stain on the cushion, the mark on the dining table cloth where Dad spilt his wine. Mia, my older sister was always in her room, writing heartfelt poems, drawing portraits and painting happy things. It was then that Mum had met Cameron. She'd fallen deep in love with him, divorced Dad and moved miles away. Dad spiralled out of control, resorted to drink. Mia turned Goth. Hid away in he room more than usual. My grades dropped to a C average, lost the glasses, skipped church, and wore short skirts. Dad finally moved on, found Jessica and married her.
I sent a text to Brandon back, saying yes, I was going to the party, and pulled on a skimpy dress. I wanted to live again
