Chapter #1
She danced in the shadows of an old abandoned house. The house had been boarded up at least 30 years ago, and it was dusty. To her, the house was her escape. She danced in sync with the music beautifully, and ballet was what she did to keep her mind off of things. She was wearing a gray pair of sweats with a knit sweater on. On her legs, she wore matching leg warmers to her sweater, and on her feet, she wore green tennis shoes.
The girl's name was Raquel. Raquel had long curly blonde hair, and piercing brown eyes. Her complexion was very fair and she was thin. She pulled off amazing grades at school considering how much time she devoted to practicing ballet. Raquel was 15. She had tons of friends, but her best friend was Corey. Corey had jet black hair with dark eyes. He was very athletic, and funny. Girls really liked him, but he only had eyes for Raquel. Corey was always afraid of rejection, so he kept his love for Raquel a secret. He loved Raquel so much that it hurt him sometimes. Despite all of this he bottled all of his passion up, and was her best friend.
Raquel walked home in the rain. The rain was cold and the wind was strong. She stopped at a white house with pillars and a wrought iron fence. This was Raquel's home. She went inside the house and began to practice more ballet in her room. In the corner of her home, sat a math text book with 50 unfinished questions.
Meanwhile, Corey was debating on whether to give Raquel his note. The note was written on lined paper in big boyish writing. At the bottom of the note, was a big signature. "Corey Hill" was sketched. The note said:
"To Raquel,
I wanted to tell you that I love you with all of my heart, and I want you to be my girlfriend. I've liked you for a really long time, but I never knew how to tell you. You're beautiful inside and out. When you read this call me.
Love, Corey Hill"
Corey stuffed the note into the pocket of his jacket and slipped on some running shoes. He walked with pride that showed his confidence. He was going through all of the scenarios in his head when he stopped by a creek. He took the note out of his pocket and threw the note into the water. He sighed and walked back to his house, with less confidence and slouched over. The note floated down the creek current until it came to a stick and got stuck. There, on the stick, the note would stay with all of Corey's feelings until he decided to do otherwise.
