Quiet part 2
October 29, 2010 - Elizabeth
The teacher walked in and, of course, noticed me. "Well, it looks like we have a new student. Would you like to come up here and tell us about yourself?" I got up and walked to the front of the class. Pulled my hood up so no one could see me.
"My name's Elizabeth, and I'm from California." I looked around the room and opened up. Nothing good. In this class there were all of the popular people. Mostly jocks and cheerleaders. I hate cheerleaders.
"Very good, you can sit back down." Just then Owen walked in. All of the girls stared at him like children at a candy store. My whole family was good looking. "And who are you?" The teacher asked.
"Owen, Elizabeth's brother." Then he frowned at me. 'Take your hood off. Now'. He thought. I rolled my eyes. "Come up here Lizzy." He smiled. I hate when he calls me that. I stood up and walked to the front of the class, my hood lower than the firs time. When I got up there he quickly threw my hood off. My blonde hair swayed at my back. I scowled at Owen. "We moved here from Florida, but we were born in California. Lizzy here loves the sun, and we're twins. Fraternal, of course. We have a little sister named Mary, and well, that's all I got. Want to add anything Lizzy?"
"I hate my brother." I said with no emotion. I gathered my hair and put my hood back up, and sauntered down the aisle. He just laughed. From now on, I'll just open up my senses. It takes too much, and I'm starting to get a headache. Mostly the thoughts were 'Wow she's hot!' from the guys and 'Omg I hope Owen notices me.' from the girls.
"Okay class, today we'll be learning about the pneumonic plague. Can anyone tell me what it is?" Social studies was boring, along with the rest of my classes. Lunch was next. I wasn't really hungry, so I just walked out to the courtyard. Owen was there with a bunch of people under a tree. Please don't call me over.
"Hey Liz, come here! I want to introduce you to some people!" I turned and walked over. 'Ewww, how is he related to her' One girl thought. I sat down and took off my hood. 'Oh. My. God. Now I'll never get asked to prom.' Another one said. "This is Angie." He said pointing to a blonde with pretty blue eyes. "That's Carly." Carly had brown eyes, and brown hair, so did the girl next to her. "That's Charlotte; they're twins. And this is Alex, Tim, Dakota, Caleb, Jake, and Josh." Alex, Jake and Dakota had blonde hair and blue eyes, but looked nothing alike. Tim and Josh had brown hair and pretty brown eyes. And Caleb had brown hair and brown eyes, but was the hottest boy I had ever seen. "Guys, this is Elizabeth, my sister. She looks much better without the hood." He laughed. I waved and turned around to go sit under a willow tree. My mother always called the weeping willows. "Where are you going?" Owen asked.
"Ummm, I was going to sit under that tree. Is that ok with you?" I said sarcastically.
"Whatever." He laughed.
