   Since when did "perfection" become a life goal?
   You shouldn't have to wake up every morning
   only to spread chemicals across your face.
   That's all you should have to do.
   You should only have to wake up.
   You should not have to put extras
   on your body only to please others.
   Only to please other human beings
   who don't even know you,
   who don't even notice,
   who don't even care.
   Why would they care?
   If they've seen one of you,
   they've seen a billion.
   It's a trick though,
   they tell you to be yourself,
   but then smack you with a yard stick
   for doing just that.
   You don't have to try.
   You don't have to try for your parents.
   You don't have to try for your peers.
   You only have to do for yourself.

   As I sit isolated on the bus this afternoon, I hear all the familiar voices and anonymous chatter. I gaze out my right-side window and wonder if I'm the only one who notices such things, the only one who pays much attention. I see nothing but clear reflections in the rain drops which fall against the window, yet I still search for something more.
   I see how pretty even the color in the grass and dirt is. I see how great it is to be able to see color and hear the beat. To think that many people aren't allowed such capabilities is absolutely astonishing. I see an increasingly vivid and bright rainbow and wonder what it would be like at the end.
   As easy as it seems, I'd think many people would be able to tell me what it's like. I wonder if there's only a reflection of intertwined colors, or if it's just so much more. Though, as we get closer to the rainbow, I pay more attention to what it may become. Though, as we get closer, it becomes increasingly transparent until finally, it disappears.
   This is when I realize, life is like a rainbow.

    When one person does something awful, it ruins it for everybody else.
    Though it isn't exactly that we believe they are all the same.
