One day it has to end, she though.
One day the constant hurting and crying and pain would cease and she could smile and mean it again. Finally she could smile again.
The hurt kept coming. And the more tears ran down her face and the makeup she worked so hard to put on would come right off with only water.
And she said nothing. She was silent and instead of feeling pain she felt a numbness that she knew too well.
He wasn't going to change his ways, and why would he ever for a girl like her?
He could do better. So he did.
And he didn't want to tell her. He didn't care if he hurt her, but what if one day he needed her again?
One day he'd need a girl to play around with when he was feeling lonely.
And that day would come. And it came over and over and over again.
But then her day came, and she realized she wasn't worth anything.
Not to him or not to anyone but even if she wasn't important, she could do anything she pleased.
She could change her life and that was all that mattered.
So she picked herself up off the floor, covered in the hickies he gave her but told her not to tell anyone, and she put on makeup. And she didn't cry and she was beautiful and her makeup stayed on all night.
And then, she smiled. And she meant it.

one time when i was like 12 i had to lie to get into a pg 13 movie
and i totally panicked and like flew out of the theatre halfway through the movie and one of my friends came to see what happened and i was crying and like "i cant lie" and then she was like "jolie your birthday was 3 weeks ago oh my god and guess who left her ticket stub in the movie
