Chapter 1
"You're insane!" I laughed at my best friend Skye. She just jumped in my pool. It was the middle of the fall.
"Come on in! The waters niiiiiiiiice!" She swam on her back.
"No. You come in." I playfully put my hands on my hips.
"Yes mom." She smiled
Hey I'm Monica, I'm 17 and just want things to be exciting.
It was getting close to dark. We went in my room. "Want a ride home?" I offered
"Nah, I'll walk." She said pulling up her skinny jeans.
"You sure?" I looked at her in disbelief. It was freezing out.
"Ya, I'm fine. I'll talk to u tomorrow?" She smiled

Chapter 4
I grabbed a beer. At a time like this I needed one. I walked over to Bridget.
"I hate Jake." I whimperd.
"Why?" She sat on Adams lap who was talking to another girl.
"He led me on then that happend!" I gestured to him and Emily making out.
"Oh jeez."
"Wha-"
"They are IN LOVEE!"
"Why didn't you tell me this?"
she shrugged. I walked up to Jake.
"Can I talk to you?" I slurred.
"Uhh, yeah." He got up Emily did to.
"Alone." I said through clenched teeth.
We walked over to a queit corner.
"What the hell do you think your'e doing?" I put my hands on my hips.
"I'm sor-"
"Doesn't cut it." He picked me up and threw me over his shoulder.
"WHAT THE HELL!" I screamed
"You're drunk." I definetly was not drunk. "PUT ME DOWN!" I punched his back, but he was stronger than me. He was walking.
He put me down. I stumbled backwards. He caught my arms and pulled me close. I sturggled to get out of his arms.
"WHO DO YOU LIKE HERE?" He kissed me, long.
"Does that answer your question?"
He smiled

I stared at the figure at the end of my bed. Lexie?. No no, I CAN'T hallucinate I'm not crazy!
Oh whatever! "Lexie-again?"
"Yeah!" She said getting up to get closer to me. She seemed...so real. I touched her tan arm. It felt like a real arm. I was about to scream when she cupped her hand over my mouth. "Listen Meghan, things may seem weird.. but I didn't die of a fire that night." I slapped her hand away. "Wait what? Are you even dead?" "Yeah I'm dead, sorta, Listen Someone murdered me,.
I felt like someone tore my heart right out of my chest.
"Who?"
"I don't remember, you have to figure that out." I looked at Lexie who was my sister, other half, best friend, who ha been murdered, while I was with her.

In homeroom all the seats were gone except for the one next to Lexie's ex Jackson.
"Hey sorry about-"
I turned to face him."I have no words for you. Your'e a cheater and a liar."
he held up his hands in surrender. "Jeez" he said under his breath.
I rolled my eyes . The bell rang and it was time for math.
******END OF SCHOOL********************
I was walking to my car when Jackson grabbed my shoulder.
"What" i said coldly
"I really am sorry about everything.."
"Well say that to Lexie. Oh wait she's dead! Too late!" with that I walked away.
He caught up with me. God does this kid have a problem with words?
"Meghan it was a mistake, maybe you could just hang out with me. That'll show you" "No." i said and ran to my car so he couldn't catch up with me. I drove home. Tonight I'm not going to the grave yard. For sure. I went to bed.
"Meghan. Meggggghan!" MEGHAN!" I yelped and saw Lexie smiling and waving at the edge of my bed. Two words. Holy Crap

Chapter 7
I got in my car and drove home. I checked my phone 1:02 AM it said.
I quietly shut my car door and went inside my house. I ran to my room and collapsed in my warm bed and drifted off.
Beep Beep Beep Bee- I slammed my hand down on my pink alarm clock. I sprang to life remembering what happened last night. Am I crazy? No, No it's just no. I went to my closet. I straightened my wispy long brown hair. I unplugged my straightner and I was about to walk out the door when I saw a flash of blond hair in my window. Lexie? I ran to my window. Nope nothing.
"Is somthing wrong honey?" My mom's buttery voice said.
"No nothing." I breathed
I grabbed my iphone and googled "Is it possible to see the dead when you miss them?"
"Yes it's sometime common to hallucinate or see illusions but they will wear off once you face the facts." I read out loud. So I wasn't crazy. Just maybe. I skipped breakfast and said bye to my parents and drove to school.
"Heyyyy Megzzzzzzz!" Dylans unflattering voice said.
"Hi..?" I was already mad at her for what she did to Lexie and I last year.
"so I'm having a party if you want to co-"
"I have to.." I ran to the bathroom.
Nobody was in here. For some odd reason there was a window in the bathroom. I looked out. Kids filled in school. I went to homeroom

Chapter 6
I got to the graveyard. I ran to Lexie's grave. My sponge bob slippers soaked with the wet grass sticking to it.
LEXIE MADISON KURTIS. It read. I didn't wipe my eyes because it was raining.
" Lexie, Lexie, you can't be dead, No-No- you just can't. I miss you like crazy. I miss you every day.
I thought of all the memories.
" I Miss when we ate ice cream in my pool. I miss when we try on outfits so we could rule the school instead of Dylan Pren."
I went on for 30 minutes when I saw something insane.
I saw Lexie, in her favorite outfit a American Eagle tank top and shorts. She put her hands out in a Ta Da! Style.
L-Lexie? I choked on my words. Somthing wasn't right. Her body was flickering.
"Hey its your hallucination!" She smiled in a what-can-you-do- sort of way.
"Wait, what did you say? Hallucinating?"
She rolled her eyes in a friendly way.
"Meghan please get over the fact that I'm Dead!"
"I know your dead, but why am I hallucinating.'
"Because your depressed, please just go on with your life. Please."
"I-I miss you i cried."
"Yeah I know. Just try please?" She smiled" I swat her flickering body away and sprinted to my car.

Best FriendsChapter 4 The net couplde days of school i didn't go. I couldn't. But when A whole new Monday came I forced my self to go. I woke up to the annoying beep beep of my alarm clock. Lexie and I both decided it sounded like the seagulls on finding nemo, but more annoying. I rolled out of bed and stood on my wood floor of my artsy kind of room. I opened my closet. I still had some of the clothes that Lexie left at my house. I picked out this www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=31755914I said down on the circle rug that was in front of my full mirror.I put on mascara and thats it (frankly at a time like this I didn't care) I plugged in my straightner. I put my long brown hair into a messy side bun.I put in my hoop earrings. I slipped on my Ugg slippers. I looked ok for somone who's best friend just died. I grabbed my blue back-pack that was hanging on my door. "Morning honey." My mom said and kissed my cheek. She poured hot coco for me. My dad got me a muffin. I ate it happilyish and chugged my hot cocoa. The clock on the stove said it was 7:03. I got in my red chevy cruise and drove to the high school. I parked in the parking lot and got out. I heard people whisper "Thats the girl whose friend died."I got sympathtic looks from teachers. " Ohhhhhhhhhh Megan It's just terrible!" Dylan Pren the most sluttiest girl in school said. She had huge boobs and long blonde hair. " Yeah i said trying to go around herShe blocked me off. Im sooooo sorrrryyyyyy she was a great friend, you must cry your self to slee- I cutt her off " Dylan please shut up!" i said She looked shocked I pushed past her. I made my way to Mr. Pint's homeroom. " Megan welcome back" he smiled, he handed me all of the work I had to make- up. " Now your going to have to go to room 123 to catch up on this."I nodded and worked my way to 123.

The hardest thing I ever had to do? Lexie's Funeral. There were pink roses, Lexie's favorite flower and color. Bright beautiful lights hung all around. I wore this: www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=31752231
My family sat in the third. Lexies family 1st/ 2nd.
" Now Meghan Donvan Lexie's best friend, my second daughter will say a speech."
I got up. The speech folded in my shaking hands. I hugged Taylor- Ann (Lexie's Mom) I went up to the podium. My voice was shaky.
" L-Lexie was my best friend. No more than a best friend " I wiped tears away from my face.
" I loved her, she was a sister to me."
" She only stood 5'3 off the ground, but she stood out in a crowd."
I saw Lexie's mom and dad look at each other and weakly smile.
" She could brighten anybody's day, she had that effect on people"
" She was the most prettiest girl in school." Beautiful Curly blonde hair and cyan blue eyes."
"" I miss her, all of you do."
" She will kick butt in soccer in heaven." Everyone quietly laughed.
I looked at the sky and exited the podium.
Everyone clapped.
I sat back down.
" That was beautiful, my brother Matt who was 21 said. I cried.
After the funeral. We went out side to bury Lexie.
Her coffin was blue, it matched her eyes.
I went to the hole.
"I miss you baby girl. And loved you from the very first moment."
After that we all went home. I collapsed on my bed and looked at the pictures. Lexie and I had been friends since we were three. We were both 16. And I would do anything to have her back

I woke up. A piercing white light shined in my eyes. What the hell?
I tried to get up. Someone gently pushed me down. My eyes went into focus. My mom.
"Mom?" I croaked
"Oh sweetie!" she threw her arms around me.
" what happened?" I said, groggily
" Its- Its just terrible." My mom sobbed
"Mom!?"
"She's gone."
"Who's. gone?
" L-Lexie."
Well that hurt.
" WHAT?"
" T-there was a fire at her house.. A candle" " I sunk back into the hospital bed crying
My best friend...was dead.
A couple days passed
I usually spent them crying and dreaming about the night of the fire
I should of just blew out the candles I thought, how could I be so stupid
We drove to my house. In my room was my huge windows, bed with blue bed-spred. closet. Lamp. But one thing missing. Lexie. She always came over. I walked over to the bullentin board. Next to it was a white board. The bulletin board was filled pictures of me and Lexie. On the white board it ssaid
MD+LK=BFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFS TILL DEATH! Then other drawings and messges. I cried. This was all way too much for me to handle.
