How to Solve a Murder Without Being Murdered:

Summer was practically over I had only a month left before I was a Senior in High School, and so far it's been totally uneventfull. I haven't had that summer romances girls dream about. I didn't travel around the world. I didn't even get my belly button pierced or anything. I know summer's supposed to be a time to relax but I just wish something interesting would happen in this small town.
"Oh my god so like Kyle totally stared at me yesterday when I was at the mall." My friend Briana swooned. My other friend Tiffany, taking a handfull of popcorn said, "Lucky, he's to die for. Girls are all over him though so good luck getting him to notice you." I rolled my eyes, "Okay, sure he's hot but he's super sketchy. Like he looks like he's hiding something." Briana and Tiffany both stared at me like I was crazy. "Come on Haley, he's not sketchy he's mysterious; which totally adds to his hotness." Briana proclaimed.
Me and my friends were having just another one of our famous sleepovers. This time it was at my house. We've been alternating throughout the whole summer. It was getting kind of cliche and boring if you ask me. We talked about boys, ate like frickin' elephants and watch re-runs of Gossip Girl and 90210. See what I'm talking about; total uneventful summer.
"What's the deal with that Bethany girl?" Tiffany asked staring out the window. I looked over to find my neighbor, Bethany taking out the trash. "Well, her parents are like super over-protective and she's been home schooled for like ever." Briana started to strip down into her pajamas. "Like she's such a sketch. She's like secretly gorgeous but you never see her out in town cause her parents are like total wack-jobs." Briana ranted. "Yeah, she's a freak. But I think guys around here are like in love with her cause she looks like a model." Tiffany added while popping more popcorn into her mouth. "Yeah, she's definitely different." I told them while popping in Season 3 of 90210 into my dvd player.
We spent the rest of the night watching it. I fell in and out of sleep several times. When I woke up at 3 in the morning I decided to turn off the tv. Briana and Tiffany were basiclly sleeping on top of each other on the floor. After taking out the dvd I nustled back into my bed trying to fall asleep again. I was just about doze off when a loud noise from across the street sounded. Briana and Tiffany both woke up from it. "What was that?" Tiffany asked. I crawled out of my bed and stared out the window. "I think it was a gun shot." I whispered. "You're not serious, are you?" Briana asked half-asleep, walking towards the window too. "Where'd it come from?" Tiffany asked me. "From Bethany's house." Before we could discuss the matter any further a blood curdling scream came Bethany's house. "She's dead!" I head a woman yell through my open window. Me, Briana and Tiffany's eyes all widened to what we had just heard.
And then we came into realilization that we had just witnessed a murder.
