Chapter 15
"Alec! Little brother!" Tiara took Alec into her arms and hugged him like she hadn't seen him in years. But her eyes changed when she saw me. Her smile almost seemed...fake? Wasn't she just acting like my best friend last night? Did she change her mind about me? "Hello, Grace."
"Hi, Tiara." She kept on her fake smile and then walked away. I sighed and when Alec looked at me I just shook my head and kept walking.
I shook so many strangers hands I thought my arm might fall off. Alec led me to a table where he pulled out my chair letting me finally sit. I leaned back in my chair, glad to be off my feet. Alec was sitting beside me saying hey to people who passed by.
A little girl who didn't look more than seven pranced over and jumped into Alecs lap. "Hey big brother!" He chukled and tickled her making her giggled. I smiled at them. "Grace this is my little sister Delilah."
"But you can call me 'Lilah." She looked just like Alec except she had brow hair that was long, falling over her shoulders in elegant curls.
"Nice to meet you 'Lilah." I turned to Alec. "How many siblings do you have?" I laughed.
He chuckled. "Just three."I raised a brow. "An older brother, Kayden. Hes actually in the war right now." He seemed to loose some of his smile. Now I understood why he wanted us to get married. He wanted his brother out of this horrible war.
Theres another reason I have to go through with this.....

Chapter 14
"You go now. Prince Alec waits for you."
She shooed me out of my room and
I ran smack into Alec.
"Im so sorry!"
He chuckled. "Its fine Princess. No harm done."
I bit my lip, blushing.
"We should get going. Tiara doesn't like to be kept waiting."
I nodded and we started walking.
"So what exactly are we doing today?" I asked as I fiddled with my dress.
"Well first we have to have lunch with your parents and mine, then theres uh...."
He seemed to get a bit nervous.
"What?" I watched him as he ran a nervous hand through his clonde curls.
"Well I haven't properly asked for your hand in marriage so...there is the engagment dinner...."
I looked away. I thought we were just engaged.
Why did we have to make a big deal out of it?
Oh yeah thats right.
Because Im a the daughter of the enemy.
We are getting married to
stop all of the fighting.

Just A Stranger
Chapter 13
The next morning I was being rushed out of bed and into a bath by
the helper lady. I was half asleep still when
I was pushed into the freezing cold water.
I gasped as every muscle in my body
froze. "No complain. Cold water helps keep skin young."
She had a spanish accent and I assumed
she didn't know English very well.
I did as she said and I didn't complain a bit as she washed
my hair. Before I knew it she was making me get out
and my muscles spasmed from the cold room.
She pushed a plush robe over my shoulders and I
sighed, loving the warm fabric on my skin.
She yanked a comb through my wet hair.
Then I was being helped into a pink silk strapless dress.
It had a pattern on crystals on the bodice, amd in was beautiful.
And finally my crown that showed
I was a princess was placed on my head.
Then, looking at myself in the mirror, I remembered and missed
my skinny jeans and band tees.
They were so much more comfortable then these long gowns.
How did your everyday fairytale princesses
do this?

Just A Stranger
Chapter 12
I pulled away. "Marcus! What are you doing?! You know Im engaged to
Alec and you know it!" I put my hands on his chest trying to push him away.
The door opened and Alec walked in. Dam*it.
Marcus was still holding me. Alec looked from me to Marcus and then he
grabbed Marcus by the collar of his shirt and threw
him off of me.
I screamed grabbing Alecs arm pulling him off of Marcus.
"Alec calm down!" I stepped in front of him, taking his face in my hands.
"Don't." He looked angrily into my eyes and seemed to relax.
I wasn't going to let Marcus ruin this. I had to do this for my family.
My real family.
By now MArcus was on his feet and he was p*ssed. But I ignored him
and kept my attention on Alec.
"Its ok. You just walked in at the wrong time. I was handling it."
He took me in his arms, hugging me tightly.
I glanced over at Marcus and saw the pain in his eyes.
He stormed out of the little closet leaving me with Alec.
Out of all the guys i've ever known Alec was the sweetest and most
uderstanding.
Marcus was the bravest but also had the biggest
temper.And now that I was thinking about all of this I realized
I was in love.Not with just Marcus,
but with this stranger of a boy, Alec.

Chapter 11
I walked towards my room slowly and quietly.
Suddenly a hand covered my mouth and pulled me into a closet nearby.
I struggled to get free. I was tired of being taken against my will.
I elbowed the stranger in the stomach and spun around to see my abductor
holding his stomach on the floor.
I gasped seeing Marcus' face twisted up in pain. I quickly helped
him up and and he looked at me confused.
"Why?!" His voice was hoarse and I bit my lip trying not to laugh.
"I didn't know it was you." I shrugged.
I crossed my arms now remembering i was mad at him.
"I thought you left with the rest of them."
"Im YOUR protector. And so I must stay here." He smirked.
"Well whatever. I don't need you."
"I can tell. You almost made me stopped breathing." He chuckled.
I wasn't even phased by his smile. I just glared at him.
"What do you want?"I asked.
He suddenly stopped smiling and looked away.
I waited but grew more and more impatient.
"Hello?"
He looked up at me stepping closer to me.
I backed away but he just got closer. I backed away until my back
was against the wall. Suddenly his lips crushed mine, his arms snaked around my waist
pulling me closer to him.
What the hell was going on with him?!

When most of the guests were gone and it was only my parents I
approached them slowly. My mother smiled a brillient smile.
"Hello dear. It was great to see you after all these years!" She quickly
pulled me in for a hug. "Uh...um...I just wanted to ask...I mean say..."
"Yes?" As my parents looked at me something in my heart changed.
I couldn't let them down. I had to do this.
I guess this was my destiny....
"I just wanted to say thanks...for what you did..."
I hugged myself. "I mean for sending me away. I know you meant well."
Tears welled up in my mothers eyes and my fathers face was
caring. They pulled me in and we hugged.
It was a nice moment that ended to soon.
"My king it is time to leave."
And before I knew it my real parents were gone.
Im sure I'd see them again soon but not soon enough....
I know its boring but
it'll get better!(:

Chapter 9
In my rush to get away from Marcus I accidently bumped into someone.
"Excuse me princess." I looked up to a dazzling smile.
It belonged to a girl who was breath takingly beautiful.
She looked like Alec but her hair was a bit darker
than his. "So your my soon to be sister?" She asked while looking me over.
I suddenly felt like I was the ugliest person in the world next to this girl.
"Im Alecs older sister, Tiara(Ti- air -A). Nice to meet you Grace."
I smiled, pretending that I was cool as ice.
But on the inside I was freaking out.
This was one more person I had to pretend to like. To be like.
I suddenly felt a strong arm wrap around my tiny waist
and I looked up at Alec.
"I see you've met my sister." I nodded.
"Baby brother you are growing up so fast!" She reached out and pinched
his cheeks as if he were a little kid.
"Already getting married. And to a beautiful girl like Grace?"
My cheeks flushed red and I looked down at my feet.
"Yeah. Im very lucky." He answered and kissed my head.
If I was beingforced to marry anyone...I was glad it was Alec...
But I still wasn't planning on going through with it.
I know its boring but
it'll get better!(:

Chapter 8
Sitting at the main table was not where I felt like I should be.
I saw myself as more of a lower class kinda gal.
These people wore diamonds and pearls, fancy leather, and expensive silk.
Me? I was more of a clearance and knock off brand person.
Here, looking around, good just wasn't good enough
for them. How did I end up in this mess? Ive always
been a good girl. I'd been nice and I tried my hardest.
I was your typical goody goody, but now I was a princess in another
dimension?!
Alec must have noticed that I was deep into frustrating thoughts, because
he squeezed my knee and asked if I was okay.
I only gave a quick nod and went back to pushing my food around my plate.
I took a few bites here and there but I wasn't hungry.
I'd rather starve to death then be here. Engaged.
People back home would never believe this.
Deep in thought I hadn't noticed that Alec had slipped away
and Marcus had silently taken his place.
I crossed my arms and ignored him.
"Come on Grace. I warned you this would happen. I couldn't have
saved you even if I wanted to." He sighed.
"Some protector you are then, huh?"
I didn't even wait for him to answer back. I slipped out of my chair
and began to wonder around the room.
I know this chapter was boring but it
is gonna get better!

Just A Stranger
Chapter 7
After I had slipped into the dress and was admiring myself a lady barged in without a word.
"Sit." I didn't question her, I just sat down. She began to do my hair.
Yanking my hair and twisting it into a perfect updo, she moved onto my makeup.
After she was finished, the crown was placed on my head. As I looked at myself I
didn't even recognize the reflection in the mirror.
"You look magnificent." I jumped. I hadn't even noticed Alec walking into the room.
He was dressed in a suit and also had a crown on his head.
"You look good to..."I smiled slightly.
He took my hand and bowed, kissing it softly.
"I'll be glad to have you as my wife."
I had forgotten all about that. Where was Marcus at?! If he was my protector
why wasn't he here protecting me?
Alec took my hand and led me out of my room.

When we reached a set of doors I sighed. Alec looked over to me in question.
"Are you ok?" He was really sweet. Any girl from school would jump at the chance to be in this situation. But I just wasn't ready for this. I shook my head blinking back tears.
Alec lifted my chin to make me look at him. "Soon there will be no more war. We are doing the right thing." And with that said as if on cue the doors opened.
The room was full of people. One main table sat in the very front of the room. I assumed the kings and queens and other important peopel sat there. My eyes scanned the table and when I saw
my parents. I knew it was them because my mother had my same hair and smile and my father had my eyes. Beside my father was a face all to familiar.
I glared at him. He didn't come to save me.
Marcus was dead to me.

Chapter 6
"So Princess. I hear you don't wanna marry me." I could hear the amusement in his voice.
"You heard right." I mumbled. The hand he had secured around my waist tightened.
I touched his hand gently meaning to stopped him from
making me stop breathing. But instead of going back to barely touching me
he took my hand, making our fingers intertwine.
I froze looking down at our hands.
Holding.
"Im Alec by the way." He said. His lips were touching my ear. A tiny shiver ran down
my spine and I felt him smile. He was enjoying this.
I scowled. "Im Grace. Its not nice to meet you."
He chuckled. "I can already tell this relationship will be exciting."
I didn't speak another word as we reached the palace. He gracefully jumped down and helped me down. His long muscular arm snaked its way around my waist pulling me close.
Leading me in and through large hallways we finally reached a small bedroom.
"This is where you will be staying. My room is across the hall. There is a dress waiting for you. Put it on and I'll be back for you in a while."
With that he disappeared into his room.
I walked over to the dress and gasped. It was beautiful.
It was strapless and foot length. It was white at the top and went down blending into blue and the down into black. I ran my hands over the material and smiled. I had never dreamed of having anything to wear like this. Glancing over an the vanity i noticed a small crown.
It was perfect.

When we were out of my window and outside the mystery man opened...a portal?!
Pulling me into this weird, other world behind him.
He shoved me onto a horse and jumped on behind me.
I hoped Marcus would find me gone and try to find me. He was probably mad at me though for not listening to him.
I should have listened. But now I was on a horse with a big scary guy in a...beautiful place.
Looking around at it I noticed the grass and leaves were greener
here. And the flowers were brighter and more vivid then on earth.
When I looked ahead of us I saw a huge palace made of stone. It was just like out of any story book.
And as we entered the giant gates of what im guessing was a kinddom I saw a boy.
A very handsome boy at that...He had sandy blonde hair that framed his serious gaze perfectly. He was tall and muscular with tanned skin. Atleast thats what I could tell with him sitting on a hrse also.
And by the crown setting atop his head I knew he was the prince I was engaged to.
I had had imagined him to be much uglier...
The man on the horse with me pulled me down and bowed to the boy prince.
Then I was shoved over to him and as he held out his hand
I took it not thinkiung at all.
Once again I was on a horse and it was trotting towards the big palace.
Maybe It wouldn't be so bad being here....What?!Grace your not thinking straight! You have
to get out of here and back home!
Marcus save me please.

Chapter 4
Marcus left that night still not convincing me. The last thing he said was if I didn't go willingly,
the prince would come and take me without my concent.
I just rolled my eyes and ignored him.
But I should have listened because that night as I
laid in bed I heard a noise. I sighed. "Marcus. I told you im not changing my mind."
I rolled over to look at the open window.
Next to it though stood a guy. Not Marcus though.
This man was big and scary looking. He wore the typical clothing you would see in a
movie about knights and prince charming. But I was almost positive that this guy
wasn't here to be my true love. He looked more like he could care less if I
was dead or alive. I jumped up and stood in the
far corner of my room. The medieval looking man walked over to me.
I squeezed my eyes shut hoping this was all just a bad dream.
But I knew it wasn't when he grabbed my arm and a sharp pain shot through
it making me gasp. I couldn't make myself scream.
So I just let him take me. I know. Wimpy move right?
But what more could I do?

I began to pace back and forth shaking my head. "But I don't even know this guy! Don't I have a choice in this?!" I wasn't about to marry this guy who was a strager to me.
"You...don't really have a choice." I spun around to glare at him.
"What do you mean?! Of course I do! I don't know this guy and I definitely do not
love him!" He just closed his eyes and sighed.
He stayed calm through this all while I was freaking out.
"Grace. You have to come to Tamara with me. And as soon as you enter back into your own world your life here on earth will be erased."
I shook my head. "No. Im not going anywhere. Forget it. You can leave and
go back to Tam...wherever your from!"
I pointed to the window." Leave. Now."
"It's not that simple Grace. Im your protector. Im forever stuck with you until the day you, or I, die.
Sorry but Im not going anywhere."
For the first time since I got the news I was some princess from a far away land,
I was calm.
"Marcus. I am not going to marry that prince. Im staying here where i've always been
and Im not going to leave. Ever. And thats final."

I just sat there speechless. By now I wasn't going to be at school early, not even on time. But
after hearing what Marcus had to say I was to in shock to think
about it."Im sorry. I wish I could have told you from the beginning but-"
I cut him off right there.
"Just don't." I shook my head. "So what your saying is...Im adopted?"
He just nodded and continued for me. "Im your protector. You were sent
to earth by your real parents when war broke out among our people and the Omarians.
They have been our enemies for centuries and a few days after you were born
they attacked. The king and Queen, your parents, sent you to earth."
I started to take over. "And you were sent to protect me?" He just nodded
and shrugged.
"Its what I was born to do." I tried to process what information I had before
I got anymore. But one question I needed the answer to. "Why are you telling me this
now? After eighteen years you just...decided I should know?" I shook
my head.
He looked away as if the answer was difficult for him to say. I waited growing
more and more impatient by the second.
Finally he sighed. "The Omarians have a son. He is the same age as you and where
we come from eighteen is the marrying age....and he is requesting
the hand of the princess in marriage. It
is the only way to make peace with our enmey."
I froze. Not only was I a princess from another land but now
I was engaged to some prince I'd never met before?
This is kind of a gods and goddess kind of story.
