   know i was in here? Leah. Bestfriends forever, right?

   I listened in silence, it was good.
   On the count of three we ran, they watched us and I could
   see charlotte confused, then a tear came from her eye when
   she realized why there were two Courtneys.
   We ran out the door to make them think we were leaving,
   but then made our way into another door. We needed a better hiding
   spot.

   I felt weird having Hailey by my side, it was so...
   Awkward. It was like looking at my reflection, a
   familiar face. It was also like looking at a complete
   stranger. I barely knew her, it's been 11 years.
   She pulled me into a hug, and i gave her a shy
   smile.
   Hailey's P.O.V
   When i saw her, i don't think i was ready. At all. It's
   been years, and I'd been imagining this day every
   second of those long, unpleasant years.
   Something was missing, not sure what it is.
   I hugged Courtney, feeling complete.
   "What are we supposed to do?" She asked,
   her voice was exactly like mine, it was weird.
   I shrugged
   " Hailey, they're in the mall! Searching for me."
   I felt a bit uneasy.
   "Charlie doesn't know I'm here." I said.
   What would he do to me if he found out?
   What would he do once he saw Courtney?
   Would he think she was me?
   So many questions, and no answers.

   They tried running after me, but i kept going.
   Even though i was gasping for air.
   I couldn't let him see me. He would think i was
   Hailey.
   Hailey! Oh my god, where is she.
   What did he do to her?
   I grabbed my phone, and messaged her facebook.
   I pulled up a map so i could find my way to the mall.
   I had to at least try and meet her.
   What if she doesnt show up? I'm screwed.
   I get to the mall and run into the Abercrombie,
   the place we're supposed to meet and i waited.
   Waited and waited.
   Of course i'm early, 25 minutes to be exact.
   I decide to walk around the mall for a little,
   it was all good until I saw Charlie, my mother,
   and Leah walking in. I run back to Abercrombie,
   and Hailey is there.
   I stand there, frozen. She's actually here.
   I run over, and hug her. My sister.
   " Ohmygod" I say so fast, it sounds like one word,
   " Our mother," It sounded nice to say our, " Is
   dating Charlie."
   She gasped. What the heck were we supposed
   to do.
   I suddenly felt as if i was in a scary movie,
   the bad guy was with my mother and is out to
   get Hailey. What if he knew Charlotte was Hailey's mother
   and wanted to hurt her.
   Bad thoughts kept going through my head,
   I couldnt take it.
   We need a plan.

   The whole day Leah and I hung out, waiting to leave.
   Once we got in the car, i almost exploded.
   " I told Charlie so much about you, " Charlotte
   started, " He can't wait til' he can finally meet you."
   I smiled, but then got a bad feeling. What if this
   guy was crazy? What if he's a creep.
   When we got to the dinner we were meeting him,
   the bad feeling got worse.
   "Hi how may i help you?" The woman asked.
   My mother and her talked, and she lead us
   to the table.
   He was already there, and i almost fainted.
   This guy was crazy. He is a creep.
   He stole my sister.
   Charlie stole my sister, where is she?
   I ran.

   I was awakened by the smell of cake and my
   mom and Leah watching me.
   " Haaaaapppppy birthday!" They both screamed.
   I smiled, letting the thought sink in. On most people's
   birthdays it's their day, just theirs. It's not just mine today,
   it's mine and Hailey's. Hopefully we'll both get to celebrate it
   too.
   "Come downstairs." My mother said, walking away, " I made
   you a special breakfast."
   I walked downstairs with the sight of a big cake, made by
   Leah and my mom.
   "Thanks guys!" I said.
   "There's something I would like to tell you" Charlotte announced,
   "So.. I've been dating somebody, his name is Charlie. I want you
   to meet him tonight."
   Me and Leah looked at eachother, this would ruin our plans.
   "He lives in the mountains...." She continued.
   "Where?" I asked
   "The pocono"
   I smiled. Perfect.

   I started to hyperventlate, right when Leah walked into the room.
   "Courtney, whats wrong?" She asked me.
   I signaled her over to my phone, and read the message.
   "Courtney, Courtney! I need your help.
   I'm in Parkland Pennsylvania. Everytime
   I try to escape, he finds me and tourchers
   me more and more. Don't show anyone
   else this message. Help me ASAP."
   She looked at me in an uneasy way, checking to see
   if i was okay.
   " Parkland..." She whispered, " Thats like an hour away from us."
   I nod.
   We live in the Pocono mountains in Pennsylvania, not to far
   from Parkland. I sit back and think.
   Tommorow is my fourteenth birthday, how can i get to the mountains.

   C o u r t n e y ' s P O V
   They both get up, and head over towards the
   window to see who I'm pointing too.
   Their eyes meet and they share a worried look.
   " Courtney, " DR.Micheals starts, " This is one of the
   things i wanted to address.... Your dreams and
   hallucinations."
   " I'm not hallucinationg!" I cry, playing with
   my heart shaped C necklace i got when
   i was a baby, "She;s right-----"
   I stop talking. Where did she go?
   " They problably just drove away," I say confidently,
   "there was a car right by them...." I finish, trailing off.
   My mom shakes her head as my eyes start to water.
   My own mom doesn't believe me.
   " Courtney.." DR.Micheals says, with a concerned voice.
   I look over at him, blinking and trying not to have my
   watery eyes turn into full out crying.
   " Courntey." He says again, " I want to help you"
   " How can you help me?" I say sarcasticly, " My sister is
   problably dead, i have no father, and only one friend.
   You can't help me"
   "Courtney" My mom says, with sympathy in her voice.
   I rush out the office, and run over to the parking lot where
   I saw them
   There is no sight of them what so ever and i sigh,
   looking at my feet.
   Something shiny catches my eye, its a necklace.
   Almost identical to mine.
   It has a gold heart and instead of a diamond "C" it
   has an " H "
   I gasp. She was here.
   And i'm going to find her, no matter who believes me
   and no matter who wants me to stop.

   I walked into the house, everything was dark.
   Great.
   "Mom, are you home?" I call as i walk through the threshold.
   It's too dark, and I cant see a thing. My hips bump into
   every possible thing on my way to the light switch.
   When the light turned on I jumped, forgetting there was a mirror.
   I smiled at my reflection, perfect.
   There are footsteps, and they are loud. I know
   i'm not imagining them.
   "Mom?" I call again.
   No answer. I make my way up to my bedroom and gasp.
   There's a girl, she looks exactly like me.
   " Hailey?" I whisper.
   She smiles.
   Behind her, in my closet, a man appears and her smile turns into
   a frown.
   This man is familiar.
   He's the man who stole Hailey.
   "Courtney, Courtney, Wake up!" My mother screams.
   My eyes flutter open. It was another dream, wasn't it.
   "Courtney, was he in your dream again?" She asks, looking worried.
   I nod.
   "Well, it's time to get up. The therapist wants to see you"
   " But mom," i said, "tommorow is my birthday,
   i want to get all my party plans together"
   She shakes her head and says " Sorry Court, it's important."
   We get into the Jeep, and i rest my head against the glass window.
   It's been almost 11 years since Hailey disappeared, everyone gave up.
   I know she's alive, I can feel it.
   Once we get to the Therapist's office, i stumble.
   I've been clumsy a lot lately, i'm not sure if it's because
   my dad left or because i've been getting these weird feelings lately.
   --- Thats the point of going to the therapist. To deal with our
   " family problems " and my " Hallusinations caused by this stress "
   " Hello Courtney, Charlotte." DR. Micheals says as we enter his office,
   " I would like to discuss a few things today."
   I roll my eyes, great.
   " First, how are things with you and the divorce charlotte?"
   My mom sits on the chair, signaling me to sit next to her
   and she starts talking.
   I tune her and DR.Micheals out for a little while.
   My eyes wander to the window, and suprised I jump up and
   walk towards it.
   There he is. The abducter. He's with Hailey.
   " Mom! DR.Micheals! There they are! " I cry.
   "There who are?" They both ask.
   " Hailey and the guy who stole her!"

    CH. 1, Part 1. The disaster
    It was a beautiful, and perfect day for a birthday party.
    You could see in the twins' green eyes that they were exited.
    " Come on girls." Charlotte Jurfern, their mother said in that voice mother's
    used with their baby sons and daughters.
    Courtney and Hailey were all dressed up, ready to go.
    They were too cute, you would never think anyone could harm them.
    Charlotte buckled the twins into their car seats, and went to the passengers'
    seat of her old beat up jeep. She waited for her husband, Jordan, to come
    out of the house, and drive them to the park. -- The destination of the party.
    " Jordan !" She screamed, no sooner than the words came out of her mouth,
    did he come out.
    " Stop nagging me woman" He shouted back.
    Charlotte and Jordan were high school sweethearts,
    the only thing keeping them together are their three year old daughters.
    .......
    Once they arrived at the park, everyone else was already there.
    They ate cake, opened presents and played games.
    Everything went as expected.
    Everyone left except for the Jurfern's,
    they started packing up all the gifts, and picking up the trash.
    They left Courtney and Hailey on the park to play.
    For one minute, just one.. Something happened that changed everybody's lives
    forever. A man, no older than 25 walked up to the twins.
    Courtney was playing in the tunnels, so the man couldn't see her,
    but Hailey was in full site.
    "Come here little girl, i have candy" He said.
    She responded with a smile, and took three deadly steps.
    A scream. That was the last thing heard from Hailey's mouth.
    When Jordan and Charlotte came back and discovered there was
    only one daughter left, they immediately went into panic.
    They called the police, who started searching for Hailey.
    Days turned into weeks. Weeks turned into months. Months turned into years
    and before they knew it, Courtney turned 6.
    It has been three years since she was reported missing, and the search
    was given up. Everyone assumed Hailey was dead.

    " What are we supposed to do with them?" A deep voice from somewhere far away whispered
    " Just keep them here until' we have a better place to hide them." Another said.
    My eyes fluttered, and i tried to stay still. The two men's voices became quiter, and their footsteps
    were heard in the distance.
    I sat up, and looked around. Where am I?
    There were several other people laying around various parts of the room- a big
    white room with no windows and only one door. The others werenot moving at all.
    Are they dead? Am i next?
    I lay back down and shut my eyes, trying to remember how I got here.
    "Hello?" A familiar man's voice called.
    I looked up, and saw Jack. My ex boyfriend Jack.
    " Jack?" I whispered, confused.
    My hand went up to my head, on a bump that i do not remember getting.
    " Hey, who in there is talking? " One of the man's voices called, angrily.
    Jack's eyes met mine and we pretended to sleep.
    The man walked into the white room we were in.
