It's a cry that echos through the years
The pain etched on each generation
I've been told it's history, that I am
A hundred and fifty years too late
To try and feel some type of way
But the hole in my heart
    wont seal up
    It hurts to know
    that I've lost so
    much of My family
    My culture
    My language
    All because someone wanted gold
    All because they needed land
And plots to call their own
    Now they tell me
    its okay For a school
    to have the mascot
Dress up in the same clothes
    as my Teton ancestors
They show the games on the tv
    There are crowds of headresses
And dozens of faces cover in paint
Their "war cries" echo through the stadium
Where they pass a ball from one end to the other
    And during half time
    you can watch the redman
    Run and hop and holler
Impersonating a warrior in his prime
    Its sad that these people
see no wrong in these acts
    "Its a tradition!" they claim
"Something thats been done for ages"
    Cue the bitter laughter
Its a point thats proven true
Just grab an American history book
    And flip to the beginning
There will be hundreds of tales
About the fight against these brown native men
And even after the war was won
They continue to earse the brown from his skin
They locked the people on strips of land
And took the children to boarding schools
    Where they where told
    How to dress
    How to speak
    And even how to live
    They took their names
    They took their homes
    They even took their words
And all the while the Caucasian man was chanting
"Kill the indian, save the man"

    Hypnotic
He has always had this way of throwing out words like a life vest
To any of those poor souls who are drowning in the sea
When he has you reeled in, he will offer you his hand
Before pulling you on board where you glaze into his sea shade eyes
You'll find yourself drowning in another sea of blue green
And ultimately willing to do his every whim, and command
All without a second thought or even any hesitation
Even if it means jumping back into the same ocean
He had only seconds ago rescued you from
And all just for his own amusement
And even when his ship has sail beyond the horizon
You will find your mind still occupied with blue-green eyes

    But once you realize
    That the hole you
    Have been sitting in
    Is nothing but a circle
    You drew around yourself
    With a chalk crayon
    Made of your own insecurities
And all you need to do
    Is swipe your hand across
    That line, you will finally
    Understand it never mattered
    What the world will see
But all in what you think
    You need to be
    And the simple truth was
    That you had the power
All along to set yourself free

Sylvia Plath once wrote of a
    friend, 'She is something vital.'
I write today to inform you of
    the same about yourself. You
    possess life-giving properties
no less powerful than those of
the sun. Your very birth was
    the result of a benevolent,
    ancient conspiracy of the
    universe. You are the enduring
    debris of expired stars, the
body that you dwell in houses a
    portion of the energy the
    celestial ancestors gave to the
universe as light and life. This is
    your inheritance: a corporal
    homestead in deep space from
    which you can (and must)
    embrace and endure the signs
    of life.

    Step away from the screen.
    Don’t compare yourself to them
    — it isn’t fair to measure how you feel against what others
choose to show you about their lives. Your work has value. Your
ideas only seem obvious to you. Creativity IS perspective—how
you see the world is unique to you. No, it won’t connect with
everyone, but it will resonate with someone if you allow it to.
What if, instead of believing you aren’t enough, you just decided
you were? Maybe you could be great. Maybe you already are
(you probably are). The world is full enough of people who will
try to shrink you. Why be one of them? You can be your own
worst critic…or your biggest ally. Think about it. Feel that
flicker of light? That's possibility. Maybe you are great.
Yeah, you are. Hold that thought. Store it somewhere
    you can return to.
    Visit often.

    If you listen
    Hard enough
    You can hear
    The thunderstorm
    Raging beneath my
    Soft flesh
    It crackles to life
    Every single time
    Your hand brushes
    Against mine

It would be a dream come
    To reality
To find myself lost with you in
    Another vicinity
Lets pack our bags, we just need
    The essentials
And take the first flight as far away
    As possible
Because there is nothing left to hold
    Us back
We could learn how to climb the
    Towering trees
That grow upon the tallest peaks and
    Right afterwards
We could dive into the deepest depths of
    The Oceans
Explore caves and swim to the edge of
    The Sea
The Sun will wave hello when we emerge from
    The deep
And as we watch the moon rise, much like that
    First time
We will remeber the long journey our feet
    Has carried
Us, from the thin air to the thick sea, and evey
    In between
And maybe that will be the moment we
    Finally understand
What it means to be in love all over
    The Earth

    "...Left your head up,
See the field beyond the trees,
This battle is not yet over,
The war still rages on ahead,
    So pick up your sword,
And rise up to the challenge,
    There is a bloodbath awaiting,
And its your calling to be there,
It will be a tough and hard battle,
But one that can be won,
Take my hand, I will pull you up,
Stand with me as my brother in arms,
Together we will slay the monsters,
That have dared invade our lands,
We will show the world our victories,
And all who wronged us shall tremble with fear..."

    Confused
The evidence was in the way your nose would
    Crinkle
And how the right side of your
    Smile
Would always rise a bit higher
    You
Would giggle but I knew that
    My
    Jokes aren't something you always
    Understand
But to be honest I don't think I
    Always
Do either, but I love hearing you
    Laugh

I never really did like nail salonsOr gold and diamond studded jewleryIt reminds me of my fatherWho has always thoughtThat the best way he could show loveWas in the numbers stamped on a price tagThe materal wolrd filled with materialistic peopleTrying to buy what can not be boughtJust give me something thatYou haven't thought to give,Lets make memoriesAnd collect them like currency in a jarThats on top of the fridgeAnd every year we can cash them inAnd see all the things we have gottenWithout ever wasting a penny on themBecause if there's one thing that is priceless It is the love that is given not bought

    The meaning of life
    The purpose of existence
    Looking up at blue vastness
Maybe I'll find a few answers
Or a few more wistful wishes
    Getting high like the clouds
    Lungs puffing it out
    The trains going astry
    A break malfunction
    But who needs to stop
When we're headingTo the same destination
    The meaning of life
    Is seaching for the
    Purpose of existence
But existence becomes meaninglessWhen you're living to die
    And dying to live

The light can't make up its mind
On either to be a light or just let it be dark
It flickers from the ceiling of her closet that has no door
It's a closet full of all kinds of things
That she has collected over the years
Theres a brown box full of faded pictures
Another full of rusty old toys
There's a pile of dusty, torn stuff animals laying in the corner
    Who have retired from keeping
All the monsters and her demons at bay
On the shoe rack is her skates she's barley ever worn
Because she could never figure out how to go forward Without her always falling down
Underneath her battered shoes are all her unfinished dairies And letters she never sent
Against the far wall beneath the still hangs the blood red prom dress
That never got the chance to sweeped across dance floors
    Stacked against all four walls
Reaching up from the floor to the roof
Are all the books that ever made her cry or laugh Or really felt anytype of anything
    The brown carpet is stained
And there's a corner that was never stapled down
    And what lays underneath
Is a folder full of secrets the world must never know
Its a closet full of new and old things
Memories of times that are either best left forgotten
    Or never to forget
    Its a closet
    But its full of
    Life
