Today I was driving down the street and saw this little girl jumping up and down.
A sign in her hand read: "GET BETTER UNCLE DOUG! WE LOVE YOU"
Across the street there was a hospital with an old man in the window waving and giving the thumbs up to the little girl.
Her love for her uncle Gives Me Hope.

I work at a costume shop and one day a little boy came in.
I asked him what kind of costume he wanted.
He said he wanted to be a superhero.

When my uncle was little, he was riding his bike on the street.
A car came around the corner about to hit him when his dog ran into the street to warn him.
The dog got hit by the car and died that day,

When I was 4 years old, my Dad and Mom got separated.
My mom cried for several nights.
One night I hugged her and I said,
"It's okay Mommy, I will always be there for you. I will never leave you."
After that, she never cried again.

In 6th grade, I broke up with my first boyfriend.
He became my best friend.
Six years later at our high school graduation, he makes his valedictorian speech.
The last thing he says?
"Maddy, I never stopped loving you. It's been six years... Can we try again?"
We just celebrated our 50th anniversary together.

My best friend, whom I have always loved dearly, lives four hundred miles away.
While on the phone, he asks, "What would you do if I showed up at your house and told you I've always loved you with all my heart and soul?"

My boyfriend was eager to meet my Mom, despite my various protests.
I pulled into the parking lot of the cemetery where she's buried, expecting him to completely freak out.
When we approached her grave, he sat down, said hello, and talked with her for an hour about how lucky he was to have me.

I was on the bus on my way to the mall, when a homeless man sat next to me.
He saw that I was looking at the bouquet of flowers he held, and told me that they were for his wife because today is her birthday.
As he got off the bus, he walked into the cemetery and placed the flowers on his wife's grave.

My grandfather was brutally murdered in the Philippines.
When they found his body, the only way they could identify it was his wedding ring.
It read "Danny and Gilda" with the date of their anniversary.
My grandmother swears they never got them engraved.

The biggest jerk in my school is in my English class..
Along with a mentally handicapped girl.
She wanted to read in class one day.
And when she was done, the school "jerk" told everyone to clap for her.

In my apartment building, there's a 7-year old girl.
Her father left her family before she was born.
Her mother was kidnapped and hasn't been found.
She has an abusive stepfather.
All the other kids walk to school with their moms.
But her 14-year-old brother never fails to walk her to school each day.

All week, kids come trick-or-treating at my campus.
I was dressed as Batgirl, handing out candy, and this little boy dressed as Batman came up.
He yanked on his mom's hand and said, "Mommy, mommy!!! I found her! My wife!!!"
Without any further hesitation, he swooshed his cape and asked me to marry him.

Today I saw a boy who was about 13, a boy of about 6, and their grandparents bowling.
Everytime the little boy knocked down even one pin, his brother cheered wildly for him, and picked him up in a giant hug.

One day, a little girl I was babysitting told me a story about her and her best friend.
She said, "On the 1st day of 1st grade, we didn't know each other. On the 2nd day, we were friends. On the 3rd day, we were best friends, and on the 4th day, we were dating."
I laughed then.
But today, is their wedding day.

I work in a school.
In the cafeteria the other day, someone spilled a drink on a little girl's skirt.
Her classmate started yelling that she had wet herself.
She looked close to tears.
Her best friend, seated opposite her, promptly took up his own drink and poured it over his shorts.
The bullies stopped laughing.

My friend was talking to a guy on the internet who started threatening that he would come to her house and hurt her.
She has 3 little brothers.
All of whom slept on her floor and outside her door for a week with nef guns and water guns to make their big sister feel safe.

When I was 4 years old, my family went on a Disney cruise.
I was so excited... but I ended up getting sea sick. As I gloomily watched the other kids play with Mickey, I felt someone tap my shoulder.
It was Donald Duck.
He stayed by my side the entire time, making sure I was having fun.
To this day, he's still my favorite character.

One day I passed a woman walking two dogs.
One was missing a leg, but they were both limping. I asked what happened.
She explained that the injured dog had lost his leg, and that the other dog was copying him so he wouldn't feel alone.
