What to do when people are singing Happy Birthday to you
--Smile and clap along
--Have a sudden fit of coughing so you can awkwardly hide your face in your hands
--Beat box
--Scream "DIS MY JAM!" and jump on the table and break dance
--Sing Amazing Grace as loud as you possible can until they stop singing to you
--Go over to the closest person singing and hug them tightly until they stop singing. Keep holding them until they feel uncomfortable. Bonus points for humming in their ear.

Someone asked me why I am so nice to people who treat me bad, and I didn't know the answer. Then, during class, I looked around after finishing my test and realized why.
I looked at the boy who made fun of my inability to do math, and his head one on his desk and he looked tired. I knew he played in the band, so he had to be at school early, and I wondered if had something keeping him up or maybe it was the amount of class work the teachers assigned.
I looked at the girl who always returned my hellos by snapping her gum and twisting her hair. I knew her and her boyfriend broke up, and I wondered how hard it must be to have everyone concerned in your business. He could probably be a jerk, I knew that she only acted dumb so people would like her.
And I thought about the boy in PE who picked me last for teams, how he squinted at the paper and furrowed his eyebrows. It must be a lot of work always practicing, and then having to get good grades to go to college.
And then there was also the girl who everyone thought was a b.itch, but little did she know I saw the scars on her wrist.
And then there is the girl who is always reading, and I wonder what she gets from those books or if she is running away from reality.
And then there is the boy who always wears that shirt and I know his shoes have holes in them because when it rains he complains about wet socks, and I wonder if his parents work hard for him or if they drink a lot and I wonder if he feels like an outcast because he has so little.
And then there's the girl who just moved here from Brazil and doesn't speak a lot of English and I can only imagine how confusing it must be to learn everything in another language.
And even the teacher, I noticed he wasn't wearing his ring today. Maybe he is giving us more work and more homework because he wants us to do better than he did.
The point is, I look at all these people and realize that they have their own troubles and their own demons, and the last thing I want to do is add to them. It's a lot of pressure growing up, and no matter what anyone says--none of us have it easy.

Pre-face
The alarms were pounding, and my sleepy heart begun shaking. It was time for the elections. One of us would go home. Though I wasn’t elected, it was still a heartbreaking experience. Whoever went home would no longer return. They wouldn’t even have the memories to hold on to. They would no longer be known as the Wittians; they would be known as the outsiders; people, who could not be trusted. That thought deeply frightened every single citizen. None of us wanted to go back to the real world. After all, who would want to leave the land of peace and purple kittens? That’s right no one, but, the elections were essential. It was the word of Steve our Wiseman and the Counselors. There was no arguing with Steve and the Counselors. No one could even use the excuse that they didn’t know. The word of Steve was pretty much tatted on our brains. Everybody knew the rules. There were no exceptions.
“Students and Citizens please attend to the purple auditorium; it’s time for the elections.” It was Jennifer’s voice. She was one of the counselors of the Comedic Section. I remember back in 2013 when Mrs. Lawrence had been elected. It wasn’t difficult to take her out of the real world. She was just like us; she loved kittens and hated people. In fact, a lot of celebrities were taken out of the real world. Chuck Norris, Will Smith, Adam Sandler, Kate Upton, and Michael Jackson. That’s right; apparently Mr. Jackson had never died. All he did was move to Wittious, the land of the Wittians. He was the dance and music teacher. Steve our Wiseman had offered him a spot on the counselor committee. But, Mr. Jackson had refused saying that he didn’t want to be higher than his students. He was my favorite teacher. I loved his class the best and I wasn’t the only one.
“Student’s and Citizens disregard the last notice, and stay in your rooms there seems to be a—“ The announcement was cut off. This had never happened before. My roommates Adriana and Erin looked at me in shock.
“Don’t worry I’m sure it was just a glitch....." I hopped it was just a glitch this had never happened before.
Guys thank you so much for your support. I got a lot of names on that other list. But, I want everyone to know that unless you provided/provide me with a personal bio I will write your character according to my imagination. So again thank you, and if there is anything you want me to include then please let me know either down here or on my page :)
