I'm sick of being a terrible person. All I ever cause to my best friend/lover is pain. Nothing good ever happens when I'm around. Now all the figments of my imagination I had previously comforting me have all gone. I sent them away. They need them more than I do. I won't accept them back. I forbid them from loving me anymore. I have too much work to do and not enough time to do it. I'm trying my hardest to do every single little thing I can for everyone else and I'm getting no appreciation for any of it. I've lost all my strength and I can't see anything cheering me up any time soon.

You could make insoluble salts in pretty colours! Not very interesting, but pretty colours.
Or make foam by adding hydrogen peroxide to... what was it... Your teacher will know.
Do something about showing convection currents by putting food colouring into water while it's on top of a flame?
These aren't very interesting ideas, but if you can explain them you'll look clever. You can't really do the alkaline metals on water because it's not safe.
