    Chapter 23a
    (Tiffany’s P.O.V)
As we were running laps around the field, here Austin was spilling his heart out to me, thinking I was Tayden. Considering that they are best friends that would seem normal, except that I don’t think guys really do that. But then again, I am a girl (even if I am acting as a guy) and we always spill our emotions and feelings. Besides, you feel like crap if you keep it all bottled up inside of yourself. Whatever, I should probably go back to listening so I can fill Tayden in later.
I was just really surprised we were running and still holding up a conversation. Austin was good! I mean I was on Cross Country AND Track a back in Montana, so that’s my excuse. Well, he was the center, but I mean we’re actually having a real conversation while running at a pretty constant rate that was actually pretty fast considering everything. We were on the third lap by now. I’m telling you, we were going really fast!
“…best friend and side kick,” he finished, sighing. I felt kinda bad, because it was obvious he didn’t want to share his feelings, but hopefully he will feel better that he released his inner most thoughts and feelings even if they weren’t who he thought they were to.
    (Tayden’s P.O.V)
How is Tiff doing? I hope no one notices that she’s a girl. Hopefully the Coach isn’t too hardcore for try-outs. Trust me; it isn’t that I think that Tiffany and Austin can’t take it. It’s more of the feeling that Tiff will faint or something because of that stupid guy suit she has to wear to look like a guy with. It must be so hot out there, I mean it feels humid in here and the air conditioning is even on. Besides that thing looks like it is spandex or something and I know how uncomfortable that can be especially in heat.

“Hey Tay,” I say as I start the conversation.
He replied, but his voice sounded… weird, “Hi Austin.”
“What’s up, dude?” I asked, trying to get him to spill.
Tayden answered, “Not much, I just hope we make the team, how about you?”
“Yeah, I hope so, too. It would be great if Mattox and Easton didn’t make it. But they are really good, so maybe it would be bad if they weren’t part of the team,” I responded, trying to vent to him, so that maybe he would tell me what was going on with him.
“What’s wrong with them?” he asked, blatantly curious.
I sighed, “I don’t know, they just don’t like me. They are always rude to me. Since I’m the center, I have to snap the ball to Mattox and I just hate having to give him the ball. And then Easton is like his best friend and side kick.” I basically spilled my heart out to my best friend, but that seems normal, right? The one thing is that I don’t really share my feelings with anyone, but that just might be my problem.

    Chapter 23c
    (Tiffany’s P.O.V)
I guess our coach’s name is Coach Jackson Abbott. Seems like a weird name for a football coach to me, but what do I know? Don’t answer that, it was a rhetorical question. So right now, he is making us run five laps around the field, “to see our endurance” apparently. I think that’s kinda strange, but who cares. I can do this. I love to run and besides, if I can show him that I am fast, I will get that first string quarterback position in a sitch. I’m so conceited. Anyways, I just want to know what he has planned next. Whatever it is, I’m so up for it. Austin is just a few strides ahead of me, so I think I will try to talk to him; but as Tayden, of course. I’ll see if this actually works.
    (Austin’s P.O.V)
In my peripheral vision, I see Tayden catching up to me, but he seems… off. I don’t quite know how to put it. I will find out soon, though. I slow up a little bit but I am still running, just so Tayden can catch up to me because I can see he is trying to talk to me. But I can’t really blame him, because I mean, he IS my best friend, so that must count for something, right?

And I just realized that I have my phone with me, in my pocket. But if someone calls and my ringtone goes off, Austin will know that it is me. Vibrate I guess? That will work.
I pulled into the Tilldon parking lot and grabbed my Fruit Punch Gatorade from the passenger seat. I grabbed my phone and just turned it off. I can call or text whoever happens to do so after try-outs. Plus, nothing can happen in like two or three hours, right?
    (Austin’s P.O.V)
Try-outs are today and Tayden is trying out. I really hope he makes it, I mean he is my best friend. It will be so much better with an actual friend on the team. All the people like Easton and Mattox are complete jerks and they just don’t like me. I don’t really care about them though. I only care about Tayden and Tiffany for the time being. I care about my family and myself, too, but my girlfriend and best friend definitely come first, no matter what. I care about Casey, too. She is my best friend’s girlfriend and my girlfriend’s best friend, so it all makes sense, somehow. Either way, I can’t wait to see what Coach Abbott makes us do first; because I’m sure both Tay and I will do well.
    (Tayden’s P.O.V)
I wonder how Tiff will do during try-outs. I don’t really care for my own reputation as I do her feeling worthless. I hate seeing my sister upset and this would make her devastated if she didn’t make this football team. But she’s like amazing at football, so I really have nothing to worry about. The only thing is that I have to make sure that I’m not in public whenever she’s playing or practicing or whatever because everyone is going to think it’s me and not Tiff, which is what we both want. But this is, of course, only if she makes it, but I’m pretty sure she will.

I just think it’s so weird that Eb was barking at nothing, but whatever it’s like 11:45 so I need to get going to practice. But, Austin knows my car, so I need to drive Tayden’s. If he will let me.
“Tay, can I drive your car?” I asked.
He retorted, “What’s wrong with yours?”
“Well, uh, it’s just that Austin knows what my car looks like by now and I’m kinda playing the role of you, so…” I started.
He sighed, I knew I had won. “Fine, but on one condition,” he smirked.
“Which is?” I gave him the puppy-dog eyes.
“Get me some gas, would you?” he smiled.
    I exhaled, “Sure thing, bro.”
“My keys are in my room, go ahead and get them. They are on my dresser,” he said, without a missing a beat. Maybe we do have some kind of twin telepathy.
“Thank you again,” I hugged him and he hugged me back.
After grabbing his keys, I ran out to the car and decided on no radio. Just in case I were to get carried away and start singing in my normal voice. Oh crap! My voice, I have to make it sound like Tayden’s. Who cares? No one will know, except for Austin. My boyfriend knows my voice and I know his. His voice is oh so sweet and sexy. But I’m getting carried away, he also knows his own best friend’s voice. I’ll have to try my best. This is like the one secret that Austin can’t know about me. That if I make the team, that I’m Tiff and not Tay.

    Chapter 22b
“I’m not sure how you could do something about that, but here, spray this on yourself,” smiled Tay as he tossed me a can of Axe that he had on his bed side table.
I caught it perfectly. “Gracias hermano,” I responded, using some Spanish because it seemed to fit, somehow. I went into my bathroom and sprayed it all over myself since most guys do that.
I then pulled my hair into a low pony-tail and tucked it into my shirt. As long as it’s hidden from everyone, it will be okay. I strolled back into Tayden’s room and threw the Axe can back to him.
“Does my hair look like yours or close enough to yours that Austin won’t be able to tell the difference between us?” I asked, hoping that that was the case.
“You mean you didn’t tell your own boyfriend?” he asked, clearly shocked as to why I didn’t tell him.
“It’s not like I didn’t want to tell him, but remember when we were tossing the football around at the park and I pretended to suck?” I hinted.
“You were pretending?” he fake gasped, which made me smile.
“Stop it! You knew I was,” I fake sighed.
He shook his head, “Tiff, Tiff, Tiff, what am I going to do about you?”
“I don’t know, you tell me,” I stuck my tongue out at him.
“Oh, so we’re gonna play like that now, are we?” he raised an eyebrow.
    “Of course, bro!” I exclaimed.

    Chapter 22
“Tayden, wake up, I need your help,” I whined in his ear.
I tried again after nothing happened, “Tay! I really need your opinion about something.”
This seemed to work because Tayden finally opened his eyes. But he seemed surprised to see me standing there, in his clothes, trying to pass as a guy. In my opinion, though, everyone would be surprised to see that.
Half-asleep, Tayden asked, “Okay, what do you want?”
“Well, first of all, can I borrow these clothes?” I asked, knowing he wouldn’t decline my request since I was already wearing the outfit of choice.
“Considering that you already got all your germs all on it, I guess so,” he fake sighed. I smiled in spite of myself.
I responded, “Alright, thanks. Second of all, do I look like a guy? Or, more specifically, like you?”
Blatantly honest, Tay answered, “Yea-well kinda. But you need to have a little less makeup on your cheeks and I think spraying some axe would do the trick to cover your girly body wash and shampoo.”
I can’t believe I didn’t think of that. How I could be so stupid as to forget that I smelled like a girl? “Thank you Tay that would have been bad. Now what should I do with my hair to make it look like yours?” I asked, hoping he would have something in mind that I could do. Maybe I should put my hair into a loose pony-tail on the back of my neck and then tuck it into my shirt. Because I have layers that are the same length as Tayden’s hair, it should work. Plus, I mean as long as it doesn’t look bad or fake or anything, no one should suspect anything.

    Chapter 20c
Because I don’t I have to figure out how to do it myself. Okay, well first, I need to find my skin tone shades. Then I need to find the assorted makeup brushes I have.
After I found everything and was about to get started it was 9:30 and I remembered that I needed to wake up Tay, but I decided I would let him sleep until 10 o’ clock. Plus I needed to have the full effect down and without makeup, it isn’t the full effect. With that in mind, I started with the makeup that’s about two shades darker than my natural skin tone. I brushed it around the middle of my cheeks in a circular motion. It looked authentic enough. I then tried to make it look kinda like a shadow under and around my chin, but not too obvious, you know? I think it looked okay, but I needed a second opinion. My brother’s opinion.
I looked at my cell and saw that it was only 9:45. I still hadn’t eaten breakfast, so I decided that I would have a bowl of cereal. I looked in the cabinet and saw that Mom had finally bought chocolate Lucky Charms. I don’t know why, but I love this cereal. I poured myself a glass of mango, pineapple, orange juice.
After eating and everything, I woke Tayden up by shaking him. I know, I’m so rude but, like, how else am I supposed to wake up my own twin. The only way I can wake up is by being shaken or by hearing music. But since I can’t just play music without it seeming awkward, I will just shake him awake. Plus, there isn’t really anything that could make the means of waking my brother up “early” on a summer day any weirder, so I decided I would play it cool and shake him awake.

    Chapter 20b
Anyways, I finally found a pair of grey sweats and a dark green Hollister tee. I thought it looked pretty manly or whatever. I decided that I would wake Tay up at like 9:30 if he wasn’t awake before that to ask him if it looked okay.
I brought the clothes back into my room and changed into the guy suit. Then I put the sweatpants on and finally the tee. I tried to figure out how I should wear my hair because Austin knows what Tayden’s hair looks like so if it doesn’t look the same, then I’ll blow my cover. But at least the rest of the players don’t know what Tay looks like, right?
Even though his hair is only two inches shorter than mine, I still have to pull it up or do something to make it look shorter. And I really don’t want to cut my own hair because then I will look too much like Tay.
Plus, then Austin will know something’s up. I really don’t want him to know I’m a tomboy at least not yet because he thinks I’m really girly and that’s good because then he won’t suspect a thing on the field. I mean, I know that it’s bad to keep secrets from your boyfriend especially if we’ve only been dating for three weeks. But I can’t tell him that I’m actually really good at football because when we were throwing the football around earlier this summer, I pretended like I sucked and I don’t wanna seem fake or something. But anyways, I don’t understand why my life has to be so confusing. I mean, I know I wanted to be the quarterback, as a girl, on a boy’s football team, but seriously though I LOVE football and gender should not determine whether or not you can be on any sports team.
With that, I decided I would try to use some makeup to cover my girlish features. Not mascara or anything, just like theater makeup or maybe some eye shadow on my cheekbones to make them look hollower because I have fuller cheekbones than my brother. But I’m not sure which color to use, so I just don’t know anymore. And, I’m not sure how to make it look realistic. If only I knew someone who was a makeup artist.

My alarm clock woke me up to Give Me Everything being on. I love this song, too so that was pretty cool. It was about 7:30 in the morning so that meant tryouts at 12 and I still needed to eat breakfast, shower, put the suit on, ask Tay if I can borrow something to wear or maybe I’ll just take something, and then actually get to Tilldon High.
I decide that I would take a shower first so that I can have my hair air dry and then I can pull it up or maybe I’ll just leave it down, I have to see if I look like a guy in either way, but maybe some make-up would cover part of my girlish features, but my hair is the biggest problem. I’m gonna ask Tay if he can help, but first the shower.
I took a ten minute shower because it was nice and relaxing in there and I could think things through. I have to make sure I have a guy voice down, a voice that sounds like Tayden’s. I’m not quite sure how I’m going to do it though because our voices are one of the few things we differ in.
After I wrapped myself in my robe and put a towel around my hair, I headed into Tay’s room. Yes, I did go into my twin’s room without permission, but it’s not like he’s awake or anything, so it doesn’t really matter, does it? Anyways, I was looking for light sweatpants and a random tee. I mean, I know it’s really hot outside, but I can’t risk someone seeing that the leg part of the suit is synthetic. Plus if they aren’t that heavy, it won’t be that bad, right?

“About two weeks, officially, but I have a really good feeling about our relationship.”
“Well, I’m happy for you, is he back in Chester or is he here in Alexander City?”
“He’s actually my neighbor, Austin Coyne? I don’t know if you know him, but he was the Center last year for the football team so maybe you do.”
“Yeah, I know him, he’s nice. I bet you two look so good together!”
There was something more than that. Almost as if they had history or something. Whatever, he’s my boyfriend, not hers. And all that matters is that we’re together now and we won’t break up over something stupid, so it’s all good.

    “Alright thanks,” I answered.
“No problem, hey, wanna like hang out on Saturday or something because I mean, we’ll be classmates so we should get to know each other,” she changed the subject.
“Sure, that would be cool. Because, like, tomorrow, I’m busy and so yeah that would work,” I responded, grateful that she would invite me to hang with her. I mean, she seems like pretty popular, somehow, and I’m not, plain and simple. But I’m really glad she suggested Saturday, since today is Thursday and so like, tomorrow, which is Friday, will be consumed by football tryouts. Which means I’ll see Austin in action and oh my gosh, he’ll look so hot, like more than usual and hopefully we can work together in some sort of way. But considering that I really wanna be quarterback, I don’t think that will be that big of a problem. I mean, he is the Center, and so he snaps the ball to the quarterback. I think I smiled in spite of myself because I vaguely heard Mylie say my name.
“Tiff? Tiff? Tiffany?” Mylie asked, trying to catch my attention. I was too busy thinking about my awesome boyfriend.
“Sorry, what?” I answered feeling like a jerk.
“I was asking why you looked so happy all of a sudden, but maybe I’m just being too nosy,” she tried again.

    “Really? Awesome!” she exclaimed.
“Yeah, I guess so,” I replied. I was really hoping that we could become friends and be in at least some classes together, but I wasn’t going to admit that to someone I just met.
By that time, we had gotten to aisle 3, so I knew that she had to get back to work. I assumed that she would be here when I came back to return the suit that may or may not even be here. I can be optimistic, though, right? I mean about the suit, not Mylie, but maybe both.
“Okay, so all of our stuff is here. I hope you find what you’re looking for Tiff,” she smiled.
    “Thanks, I’m sure I will,” I answered.
And with that, she left the aisle and back to the aisle she was at before. I looked and finally found exactly what I had been looking for. It had short sleeves, but with no “muscle” padding. There was hair on the legs and it was surprisingly the exact shade of my hair. And it was just exactly what I wanted because it was the same shade as my skin, too. With that, I went to the cashier. Thankfully, Mylie had moved to the cash register, by that time, so that I wouldn’t have to talk to yet another stranger. I really was hoping that we could be friends, or at the least, friendly.
“Can I borrow this for like a day or two?” I asked Mylie as soon as I got up to the counter. Obviously I was hoping that she would say yes.

After about ten minutes of walking up and down random aisles, I decided I would ask one of the workers stocking shelves if they knew where I could find what I was looking for.
I saw a girl with long, wavy, light blonde hair pulled into a low pony-tail at the back of her neck. “Excuse me?” I asked, wanting to get her attention. She had forest green eyes that were utterly and indescribably beautiful. She looked about my age, so maybe she’s going to Tilldon High with all of us. I saw that her name tag said “Mylie” which is a really pretty name if you ask me.
“Yes?” she responded, turning toward me.
I laughed slightly, but not at her, “Umm, I know this will sound really weird, but, umm, do you have any full or half body male suits?”
“I think so, let me check in aisle three where all of that kind of stuff is,” she answered, smiling.
“Okay, cool. Your name is really pretty, by the way,” I replied.
She looked back at me, “Thanks, what’s your name?”
“Oh, I’m Tiffany Jordan, but you can call me Tiff, or TJ, I don’t mind; and no problem,” I smiled.
“I love your name, too,” she grinned.

Awwwwwwwwh! I love his nickname for me, Tiffy. But only he can call me that. I’m Tiffy and he’s Aussie. But enough about my love life, let’s move onto the matter at hand, my pretending to be a sixteen-year-old male tomorrow.
As I walked through the automatic doors of Party City, I could smell the plastic and dust in the air. It was a refreshing smell, believe it or not. I wandered aimlessly through the aisles, trying to imagine which section the male, full-body suits would be. Well, in reality one without arms or with short sleeves would be best since, like I said before, I have pretty big muscles.

Now I’m looking up where the closest one is and the result is Party City, which looks to be a five minute drive from my house. It’s a good thing that it isn’t too, too far because, let’s be honest, no one wants to drive too far to get anywhere. Thankfully, If I Die Young is playing on the radio, so it isn’t that bad that I can’t seem to find the Party City store that I found on Google.
When, I finally pull into the parking lot of the Party City store, I’m really hoping that I can find one and rent it for a day, or possibly two, depending. If not, however, I’m going to have to ask a worker there where I can go to find one. Whatever, I’m just wasting precious time so I might as well see if they have what I’m looking for. As I step out of the car, my phone vibrates and my screen flashes “Incoming text: <Austiin3” and I can’t help but smile. See, Austin is in my heart hence the <3. We’ve been doing really well. We finally told Tay that we’re dating. At first, he didn’t really like the fact that we were in a relationship, but now I think he’s dealing with it a little bit better because of him dating my best friend, Casey. Now we both know what it feels like and I don’t really mind because, first of all, they look so cute together and secondly, I don’t have to go behind my brother’s back anymore.

I knew that I should probably figure out a way to look like a guy since try-outs are tomorrow. But the only people who know are my parents and Tayden. And where can I find a suit or whatever to look like a guy’s build. And because I need to hide my chest and my feminine figure, it is a necessity that I get a boy suit thing. Where the hell can I get one?
Would it be the Party store? I sure hope so, because I don’t wanna drive all over the place looking for one. And I only need one for like a day or two because after I make the team, if I make it, then I will be covered up by the shoulder pads and stuff, so I’ll be okay with that.
Oh crap! How am I gonna change without them knowing I’m a girl? I can’t just go into the stall because guys don’t do that, or do they? I could ask Austin, but that would be an awkward question to ask since he has no idea that I want to play football or that I’m any good for that matter. So, should I ask Tayden? Yeah I will ask him.

“Would you like to go out with me?” I just asked it and gazed into her gorgeous caramel brown eyes. I loved the topaz specs in there as well, I gotta admit.

“Well, for one you’re beautiful. Two, you seem way out of my league. And three, you just met me,” I listed the reasons.
“Are you trying to convince me otherwise?” she smirked.
I stuttered, “W-What? N-No, I just t-th-thought that you would need to get forewarned of what I thought.”
“Well, I want to date you, you’re pretty handsome yourself there, stud,” she winked.

    Invisible but Invincible
    Chapter 19c
“Hey, are they like dating?” Roni asked, curiously.
I replied, “I’m not sure, but it sure looks like it.”
“But you gotta admit that what Austin said was really romantic,” she smiled.
“It’s kinda like that scene from The Last Song, right?” I asked.
Roni laughed, “Yeah it is! I can’t believe I forgot about that scene! That’s my all-time favorite movie, but how did you know about it?”
“Well, considering I have a sister, it’s normal,” I tried to cover myself.
She thought for a minute, “But she’s less girly than that or so it seems.”
“Fine, you win. I have a soft side for chick flicks. I mean I know I shouldn’t like them and I don’t like most of them, but that one is pretty good I must say. And that is probably the best scene in the whole movie,” I gave in.
She smirked, “Never would have thought that, but I agree about it being the best scene in the movie.”
I was wondering if I should ask Roni out because she seemed different than the other people. The ones in Chester, the ones I have yet to meet in Alexander. And it seemed to me that even though her and Tiff only met today, they are like best friends. I’ll give Tiff a taste of her own medicine. I’m not usually like this, but I feel like this is an exception because I told Austin how I felt about it.
    “Hey, Roni?” I asked, cautiously.
“Yes, Tay? Can I call you that? Tay?” she looked worried for some odd reason.
    I smiled, “I don’t see why not.”
