   Dear Mother,
   I don't really think words can begin to describe how absolutely disppointed I am in you. You have never seen me as a human nor have you ever been willing to accept me for who I am. I never fit into your perfect little world and for that I was the one you blamed for everything that went wrong and yelled at and punished for no reason. You took my Playstation for a week because I spilled a little milk on the floor. You tried denying my father shared custody of me when I was 5; a time where I would have remembered him and been always wondering where he was. You had a problem with the way I dressed, my friends, my music and my hobbies. You told me father you wished you never had me. You tried to punish me for cutting myself when you should have been trying to help. You told me to fight my own battles when I came home crying everyday from a school you forced me to stay in when you knew how badly I was being tortured. But whenever you had a boyfriend who left and you were upset I was there. When you had cancer I was there. I paid your bills with what money I had for a college fund until I had nothing left because you couldn't. So where were you when I needed you? Oh yeah, you were telling me to get over it. If you would have just treated me like your friend instead of a pig things may have been different. Now our relationship is totally awkward and it's gone far too beyond fixable. You'll always be my mother and I'll always love you, but I don't always have to like you. You kind of made my life a living hell and you can't really take that back now. But not living with you anymore has taken a lot of tension off of our relationship and I would rather have a little bit of a good relationship than none at all. You were supposed to love me and I know you did, but it didn't always feel that way and it's still sad to think about. I'm sorry, but you've made me sad more than you've made me happy. But I guess that's what made me the strong person I am today; so thank you.

You've inspired me to feel love again and to see myself in a way I never have before. You make me happier than I've felt in a very long time and I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world.
