My cousin Peggy works at the Pentagon. 10 years ago she was late to work. Her boss was sick and was at home with his wife, she decided to call him to tell him that she overslept, and was going to be late, and that she hopes he feels better. As she was driving along the road, phone to her ear, she heard sirens.
Tons of them.
Then she looked up.
Smoke.
It was billowing throughout the sky, everyone on the road pulled over to lt the ambulences and fire engines go through.
They all got out of their cars as well, and started to look at the sky.
Her boss picks up his phone. She frantically tells him what's happening, and his wife takes the phone and tells her to drive to their house, about 2 minutes away.
She arrives at their house and her boss and his wife meet her on the lawn and usher her inside, where she learns of the attack in New York, and her own work place.
It gives me chills to think that if her boss wasn't sick that day, if her alarm clock had gone off, that they both could have died.
