I am thinking back to the memories
the memories you gave me
tonight
and I am so tired
but my mouth is so happy
and now it refuses to be sad
I can still hear me chanting to the melody
you cannot hear me
but I can clearly hear you
I am tired
but I know that
if I fall asleep tonight
when I wake up tomorrow
and I am referring to this night
I will have to say “yesterday”
and this night will be just a memory
I really don’t want this night to
be another memory
I can still hear me chanting to the melody
and I can still hear your voice clear as the day
and I can still hear the crowd singing along
I refuse to fall asleep tonight
because I know tomorrow I will have to say
“yesterday” referring to this night
I refuse to turning present tense into past tense

I wanted to paint my
nails
but I had trouble picking
colour
navy was my favourite
because it reminded me of the
night sky
but so I asked you
and you told me your favourite
was yellow
and you told me I would look
pretty
in yellow claws
so I put down the bottle filled
with midnight blue
because it used to be my
favourite colour
and I painted my nails yellow
for you
yellow is an awful colour
